  • Hi Billy,
Would like to wish you and Morya the very best of luck with your btl business which will all take off this Friday when you get the keys for 2 propertys. Fingers crossed that everything goes well over the next couple of weeks. I have loved reading your jounery from the start about your ups and downs with your btl experience. Keep us all updated with the progress.
Off to sunny Florida in the wee small hours, will log in at some point in the holiday to see how you are getting on.
All the very best, take care

    Hi ATT,

I ran the idea past the letting agent and they're looking into it a bit further. We're doing the places unfurnished in the first instance. Our Colin will be keeping busy with all the initial repairs that are needed to the first lot of houses!

Billyland will have everything that anyone could ever want. Something between the Vegas Strip and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory is my current preference. Neonific, calorific and generally splendiferous!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hiya Gally,

It's something that, strangely enough, I've heard on three seperate occasions in the last couple of days so it's clearly back in vogue (either that or the folk at work are dropping hints that they're avid followers of these ramblings!) Thankfully, the only game that seems to be a bogey at the moment is the SPL and no complaints at this stage from me...

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Evening L,

Have a wonderful trip. We hopefully complete the first property on Friday (helped not a lot by our lawyers going bust on us!! - have you heard from them this week?) The next two are due to come in on the 24th.

Bring some of that sunshine back, won't you!?

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Evening All,

And a wonderful evening it is. After more than a week of scrabbling about, it feels as though things are coming together. In the last week we've had our lawyers go bust, the financial advisor get bumped, delays to one of the houses, sellers chasing all over the place for information (understandable as they clearly weren't getting a lot from said bust lawyers) and, in the midst of this, we're still trying to ascertain exactly what is to be done with properties 1 and 3, who is going to move into property 2 and where we're going to aim to get properties 4 and 5. It's all go!

Happily, work is nearing the end of a very busy period and a couple of nice wee concluding pieces should get wrapped up this week. Businesses 1 and 2 are going ok although we still need to tei up the partnership agreement with Colin who is being advised by his smarmy lawyer not to get involved with us (never met someone so rankled at the idea of people with first class degrees - that's three seperate occasions he's decided to opine negatively on mine). There's a second letter that I need to see from him to Colin but we'll see what that leads to in the fullness of time and I'm not letting it bother me in the slightest at the moment.

Business number 3 is back in the late planning stages and should kick off in the next four weeks. It will be the first one to be officially incoporated as a business so I'm really looking forward to that process.

The charities are all going plenty well. Hoping to get some decent fundraising going in the coming months - we've decided that we'll aim for a collective 1,000 mile bike ride (200 miles each) across two or three days in June so there's some training to be gotten in for that. My aim is to raise £5,000 initially for the charities and then build it up to £10,000 annually from next year.

Other than that, not a lot going on. An exhausting but enjoyable cycle of eat, sleep, enjoy the demise of Rangers, work, repeat!

Hope everyone is grand dandy and enjoying the final chills of winter!

    Cheers,

    Billy

Good luck for Friday Billy, glad it's gone smoothly :rotfl:.

    Hi Billy,
Canny believe the lawyers has went bust !!!!!. Will deal with that when i get home, will phone my mum and dad and let them know as well as it's their lawyer as well.
Things are stressful enough without that happening.
Will update later, waiting on taxi to pick us up.
    Good luck and take care

    Hi Gally,

Smoothly along we roll!! The house will now be ours on Monday after my favourite fail thus far. The new solicitors (SM) managed to somehow not pay the old solicitors (the self-same SM) in time today to let everything be finalised. You couldn't make it up!

    Cheers,

    Evening (afternoon) L,

It's a good week not to be dealing with them. Hopefully things have calmed down a good bit when you get back.

    Evening All,

I'm becoming less convinced by the day that we'll ever get any of these houses!! The legal wranglings today means that Monday is now the due date for property#1. It's really becoming quite tiresome!

So, onto better news. The neighbours are selling their own squalor now that the wife is pregnant. Their squalor isn't going to be big enough for their new wee family in less than a year and they've offered us their house. The question now is does squalor+squalor=squalor+ or could squalor+squalor=big house with a wee bit of effort!?

    Cheers,

    Billy
