Definitely not a NSD for me! Got myself one of these

As they were only£35 through a groupon deal. They're usually £95 . It will be amazing for my second job as the carer's room is absolutely baltic! And if I need to run through and check up on the person I work with, I won't fall out of the bed trying to get out of my sleeping bag! :p And they'll immediately feel better as they'll be killing themselves laughing at me. :D Every-one's a winner! (I do actually think I will be in danger of putting it on and not taking it off until May!)

I also got Dad's birthday present and felt so guility I agreed to setting up an oxfam donation. I do wish they wouldn't knock on my door. I'm rubbish at saying no at the best of times, but to oxfam for emergency relief! I couldn't do it! :( If it really is stretching me though, I will cancel it.

Another birthday on Friday - still to get a pressie for that. Was hoping to make it but I'm running out of time and haven't bought what I need to make the pressie either.

And tonight's my last dress-making class! With a bit of luck and perseverance, I might even have a wearable dress! :T

I could do with one of those for my job too......

They've still not anything about the cold air that's being blow over us while we work, and it's getting beyond a joke. 12 days ago I went in before my shift and informed the duty manager I couldn't work under them that day (or the next) as I'd been suffering from a sore neck/cold shoulder all week after being under it. So I was given permission to turn off the lights they're connected to once no-one else in the bakery needed any of those particular lights.

I was then off all last week and managed my full shift under them yesterday with no apparent ill effect, but was told at shift change-over that one of the other ladies (who does the close & clean shift 3 nights) was made to put the lights back on last week - and she has arthritis in her hands which is being made worse by it.

By 2pm today I was starting to feel the ache in my neck/shoulder again, so I turned the lights off not long after that. Not sure if the manager misssed spotting I'd done it or not (he was in the vicinity a couple of times 'cos I heard his voice), but I managed until the end of my shift without them - though I'm still sore now.

Will have to wait and see what happens when I turn them off tomorrow/Thur/Fri, as there's no way I'm working under them for much longer. Have been promised the store manager is chasing maintainance on a regular basis to come and sort them, but I can't see how it takes 5 weeks (or is it 6 now?) to get an electrician to come in and do a bit or wiring

Evening all, well the forum went down last night before I could declare yesterday as NSD 13 and I decided to have an early night as I was feeling a bit rubbish.

Feeling better today now heating is sorted - not a NSD as I needed cat food before the RSPCA called round :rotfl:, and a few other bits. Really need to add up my last few spends as I am deff up to/over budget this month. Thank goodness it's pay day soon.

Sorry to hear about various applicance/car incidents - Donna, I agree that sometimes it feels like one thing after another :grouphug:

Nicca - I love the sleeping bag thingy - do you have to sleep in the same cheesy catalogue pose as the model :rotfl:

Cheryl - your mathamatics astounds me - have you thought of applying for Countdown? I try and add up shopping as I go round store - then I get distracted, forget and it all goes to pot.

Webitha - oh...I hadn't noticed 1l Baileys for £9 in Tesco - I might swing by tomorrow (OH loves it, can literally guzzle a bottle in a couple of nights) so I'll have to squirrel that away for Xmas.

Was stalking that TV I resisted on Amaz*n Black Friday again today, but no joy. Also missed a camera I did really want as its one of the ones I was looking at for my mum's Xmas. Never mind, they seem to list some of the same things each day. I've been reading some feedback about the Lightening Sales and some people are getting really irate. I don't get it. It's just a bit of fun, its an American tradition after all and its not a god given right to get a bargain deal in a sale. People are also complaining the only things they get in their basket is stuff they don't want....which kinda begs the question, why click 'add to basket' in the first place then?

    Hi Solvent and fellow NSDers,

NSD number 9 for me today, so hopefully will meet and exceed my target of 10 for the month. I hope everyone else is achieving their targets and you are all well.

Ah, but I use pen and paper while walking round - means there's less chance of getting distracted and forgetting where I'd got to :)

I used to use a calculator, but got annoyed with the regular occurences of either accidentally hitting a button (often the 'clear' one) or losing power to it (most I own are solar ones)..... I actually get more accurate results using the 'old style' method ;)

Good luck butdoineedit - although, technically, you wont read this until after the job interview ...

Thanks for all the good wishes about the job everyone, have to admit to really wanting this job (far more than the one i've got), but also not being totally sure i'm experienced enough  maybe thats why the presentation seemed soooo hard, but it's finally done now, so i'm just going to do my best & keep my fingers crossed!!

Oh & almost forget the reason i came on here, number 9 for me today, i'm hoping this is me back on track (apart from interview travel costs, groceries... & possibly a new bath to beat the VAT, not that i'm putting it in till after xmas, promise!!)

I do use the words "I am sorry but I have my own charity that I already support".
Charity is nice but the "making you feel bad" approach is not right and you can't end up paying £1 to every single one.

I believe that you should give 1) if you can afford it and 2) if you believe in the charity (their cause, their work) and not because of the guilt trip.

For instance I give £10 a month to cancer research (ex smoker and I have people in my family who have suffered) however I am very often contemplating just stopping because I get rubbish by the post from them (expensive marketing paper to entice me to pay more -very annoying because I feel that the £10 is pointless).
