The Avon lady's just been, but I had her money stashed away last week. However, one of the items I ordered was for a Christmas pressie, but it looks really cheap and nasty. It was a tenner, but I think I'm going to return it ( I dont usually, and the unwanted item ends up in a drawer marked " make up disasters") I feel a bit embarrased returning it, but they have a 90 day no quibble guarantee. Any thoughts? i know what you will all say actually, just need a bit of Dutch courage:o
I just hate the thought of wasting money!
Have got most of my C-mas shopping done, just one to get, but I need to buy wrapping paper etc. A trip to £land will sort that out!

    Have a good evening everyone:)

Jinty just be honest about the reason you are returning it if they have a no quibble return policy. Its only through feedback that they will/can address the issue with product development anyway. Don't think of it as a return, think of it as offering free marketing advise ;)

Jinty - definitely return it :)

Yesterday was a spend day for me......

App F00ds finally sorted out the refund for the bits that were missing from last weeks delivery (a bit annoyed that they're now OOS of one of the main items I'd placed the order for and which arrived short, but they were very fair with the refund which also covered a good chunk of the postage cost - and that had been on an offer rate anyway), so I placed another order with them while they're running reduced rate postage again ;)

    And another spend day today......

went and sorted out my combi oven this morning. returned it to the store it came from for refund (they didn't have one in stock so couldn't exchange) and then headed out to another store to pick up a new one. as this was a new sale I qualified for the £5 off next spend voucher deal they started running today, and know for sure I have a full 1 year warranty on this one (another company who replaced something for me earlier this year informed me the warranty on the new one was only valid for what was left on thr original machine!)

while at the retail park for the new one I picked up a few bits and pieces - a hanger thing for my socks/smalls (used to have one, but have no idea what happened to it - and my current indoor dryer has nowhere for them to be hung easily), three recipe books (though one's more a healthy eating one with a few recipes), a bag containing several packets of popping candy (stocking fillers for the kids and grand-kids), a small pressure cooker (which can also be used as a pan), a set of two 'grill pans' that can be used in a micro (have a 30 day return on them, so plan to have burger for tea tomorrow night to try them out), and a couple of crafting bits in a clearance sale (though the latter are excluded from all challenges this year)

picked up some Whoopsied minced beef on my way out of work, then went back just over an hour later. One of my favourite cakes in the chiller was up for reduction tonight, and there were several of them so I knew they were likely to hold out until the 50% reduction. Picked up that (a jam and cream swiss roll for 99p), plus a tub of 'seasonal' sandwich filler (gammon, honey and mustard - not sure whether I'll like it or not, but prepared to take a gamble at 25p instead of £1.40), a carton of organic fresh orange juice (19p), and a pack of 5 onion bagels (19p).

So that's 3 spend days in a row for me - and puts me in line for the wet kipper award as well :o
    No way I'll manage my 6 day mini-challenge now, but hey-ho - there's always another month :)

Think I'm going to struggle for NSDs in Dec & Jan - got an email from my milk monster on Monday, asking if he can come home for his Christmas break !!! DD is wondering if my parents have put pressure on him, as my Mum has been voicing concerns about me being left on my own over the festive season - and especially after DD said that she'd already invited me to hers, only to be turned down as I don't feel I can leave the dog alone for as long as they'd expect me to be at that end for. Problem is that (while I don't mind him coming home if he really wants to) I was actually looking forward to being on my own for the first time ever - but I can't think of any way of asking him if he's being pressured from that end without making him feel he's not welcome unknown.gif (I'm actually hoping DD manages to catch him alone to ask, and then manages to do it tactfully)

Oh dear Webby :o I know it seems funny, but chicken pox is rather nasty if you're unlucky to catch it past mid-teen age. My sister was 15 & really suffered after I'd brought it home from school (she's older than me :D ), & when my neighbour's 23 yr-old daughter caught it a couple of years back she was on the verge of being hospitalised :( Don't mean to scare you but please make sure things are only spotty & nothing else is lurking. And if you're running out of calamine lotion, good old bicarb in the bath water will help relieve the itching.

Good Luck for tomorrow BDINI, although I'm sure if it's what you want, you'll ace the interview :T

I reached the magical 17 yesterday, due in a BIG way to me muvva having all sorts of deliveries & gentlemen callers  Perhaps I should have phrased that better; a chap to put up some handrails, a meter reader & waiting for a phone call because she is hard of hearing & didn't want to say Yes when she should have said No! The only "ill repute" that could be connected to her house is her choice in dodgy colours of hosiery :rotfl:

thanks bigmumma, he is taking antihistamines which is better for the itching than calamine lotion as when it dries it makes you even mpre itchy

so if ive not posted for a while, i will have rushed him to a&e

only 1 more NSD before i reach my 3rd target, yey get me, perhaps all this illness is the silver lining in a a biiiig black cloud
