    Mortgage-free Glee!
Let me join the doom and gloom group today as well. NSD number 11 today as I twisted badly my back this morning just bending down to switch off tv!?!?
All plans have been cancelled and been a day in, at least my NSD count benefit from it
    ..
Who says exercise is good and strenghthen the back????
    MFW on your mark
  • 2 more NSDs to add to my tally. I resisted running out for takeaway and alcohol last night which I am especially proud of, I needed to let off steam after hectic work day, relaxed with darts on tv instead.

So I am on NSD 14.

Hope everyone is well, haven't had a chance to read all posts that I missed. x

    Grief

Mine get done almost 5 times for that (I pay £4.20 a fortnight), and I thought that was lot to find - but I still think it worth paying for while I can afford it, as I don't like heights so wouldn't/couldn't do the upstairs ones myself.

Yikes! I guess the guy who does yours can't fit a house in Berkshire into his round can he? :rotfl: I was trying to do the old 'find 3 quotes etc etc) but of the others I called one said it wasn't worth his time as he has no other houses in this area, and the other number no longer seems to exist - so I figured that since these guys had bothered to put a leaflet through in the first place, and come round and quoted, I'd just go with them and see what they were like. I must confess, we have been here 11mths and this is the first time they've been done so that does work out at only 42p a week :rotfl::rotfl:I haven't booked them to come on a reguluar basis atm but I do have a feeling that if I get some more quotes that won't be way over the odds for this area.

I would do them myself but a) since I do most other things I can't really be ar*ed to add something else to the list, b) by the time I've bought ladder/hose/bucket/cleaning things, I'm just as well to pay someone else....and after my oven cleaning episode cost me a new oven handle (finally got two second hand ones from eBay for £25), I think it's sometimes better to leave some jobs to the experts :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    We can't get alternative quotes.

Round here there's a "gentleman's agreement" between those in the trade, and they all have their own patches. We rented a place for 8 months, when we first moved here, which is less than a 10 minute walk from where I am now. As we were packing for the move DH caught the window cleaner we had at the rental to cancel there, and asked him to start up here - only to be told "sorry mate, don't do that estate. but the chap who does will call round as soon as he sees you've moved in".

  • Hi Folks:j,

Despite having the expense of car repairs this month, I'm now up to 7 NSDs. I hope everyone else is on target and is well:D.

    Red:)
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!
  • Can I declare 4 NSD's please! Just got back yesterday from a few days away, and with the exception of needing fuel to come home we only spent the money I had been saving for ages beforehand!! Feels great to come home having not spent a bomb!!

On the minus side though I paid the deposit for a summer hols in Devon next year today - I get itch feet as soon as I'm home!!! However was half price and got a free upgrade to a new caravan!! Woo Hoo!
