I ordered mine on the 26th November. I had a an email stating they'd be here in 10 days, but nothings arrived. I checked the site and it's now saying no introductory chocs will be sent until February 2011.

Amos, I never got a dispatch confirmation, maybe they messed mine up.

i got the email but never got any chocs.. ah well

I never got a despatch e-mail, it just says on the members section of their website last despatch 3-12-2010, next delivery due Feb, theyve taken the money out of my account aswel. Not sure if I should ring them.

As a further update, I got the email (initial correspondence started to change delivery address) and was told that I now wouldnt get them until Feb.

I said that wasn't good enough so they offered me the usual member's tasting box this month instead. It's the same value and will be sent in time for Christmas- more than happy with that (especially as i don't know what's in the intro box anyway).

Worried that it might be cutting it fine for Christmas, I gave them a third address to use instead.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the contact I've had with them.

I received the email below today...great! I ordered mine when the chocs where available. I didn't get a web page with the message stating they wouldn't be sending until 2011!. I've cancelled my membership with them. As I've purchased some from Thorntons using some of the great free gift codes from the forum instead.

    The email states:
Unfortunately due to an unprecedented demand, however, the Introductory Selection is currently unavailable for despatch until the end of January and we apologise for any disappointment this may cause. However if you would still like to receive the Introductory Selection we can arrange for your reservation to remain on your account so that the selection will be despatched to you as soon as it is available in the New Year.

    Actual word for word:

I'm sorry, the classic collection (introductory box of chocolates) won't be available until after Christmas?

That's not really very helpful as I took this offer on the understanding that they would be delivered within 10days; I had specifically ordered them as chocolates to enjoy over the festive period. By the New Year there is every chance I won't want any chocolate at all!

Surely you must an alternative that can be delivered? I can't believe a chocolate company has been unable to ensure enough chocolate to supply the busiest time of the year?!

I certainly won't be happy if chocolates ordered on 1st December don't turn up until next year!

They didn't get back to me for a couple of days so I emailed them this:
Further to my unanswered email below, please could you advise me of alternatives regarding the introductory chocolates?

January is unacceptable; when I signed up the offer was for 10days delivery.

    Please advise.

    the email for them is:
    custserv@hotelchocolat.co.uk

    Good luck!

If I'd have received that I'd have replied with "sorry we can't fulfil your requirements, we have cancelled your order instead" to be honest!
