never in a million years would I eat it I'd rather bin it and it takes a lot for me to say that ,but then I'm not a particular animal lover at all.my DD thinks I'm odd as I have never wanted an animal of any sort.but different strokes for different folks I guess. She has two dogs,a hampster a tankful of tropical fish plus one of the boys has three pet rats. They used to have two cockertiels as well, plus of course their five children.I would never be cruel to an animal I just can'r see the point in them.

Lovely "Economy Gastronomy" recipe. DH wont eat it. I'm happy to eat it if its been effectively boiled and then simmered for hours. As long as I get three posts saying go for it then i'll eat it.....
Would you eat it?
Yep but its probably too late now:)Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Yes, I'd eat it. Rinsed under the tap and well-cooked,certainly wouldn't waste it; nor would I be rewarding the cat with the rest of it for such naughtiness!0

I'm with the rinse it and heat it up well crowd. We are all far too concerned about 'germs' these days. Our ancestors would have eaten off the ground, and wouldn't have been fussed about taking some meat another animal had killed... There is a reason your stomach is full of strong acid!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

What is it about cats and cheese??? Mine ate through 4 slices the other day...! Not licked or chewed the top slice... No he ate right through the middle of all 4 slices!!!!
I admit I threw it away! 1) it would upset his tummy and 2) there was not enough cheese for a sandwich!!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. This happened to us a few years ago OP. The cats had the leftover roast shoulder of lamb off the side and were gleefully tucking in.
I cut off the obviously chewed bits and chucked them, rinsed the remaining joint and then casseroled the meat the following day. No problems - unless you count two miserable-looking cats with the hump.
I'd eat it TBH, too good to waste.0 -
I'd probably have eaten it given that it was a £20 joint!
My MIL tells a story of the school fete when a kid turned up with an iced sponge cake for the cake stall. When they told him how nice it looked he said it was because they had iced it twice. They asked why and were told "because the cat got into the kitchen and licked the first lot off!"
Not even I would send a cat licked product for the school fete.Well behaved women rarely make history.0 -
I would reheat and eat. In fact, I caught my cat licking a lasagne the other day, scraped the top off, and we had it for dinner the next night, thoroughly reheated. I have a food umbrella to cover stuff while it's cooling, but it seems the !!!!!! has worked out how to get it off....
To the poster who said it was "very wrong", there are many things that I think are wrong in this world, wasting food being one of them. I can't believe people would rather throw £20 worth of food in the bin to be honest. So, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,
They call me Mummy
