Yes if you go into your account you can put your listings on 'vacation' mode. It sometimes takes a while to switch off, so don't leave it until the last minute. Then when you come back you can just switch them back on again.

I actually sell quite a few ex library books and the odd thing is in some of the categories there are nothing but ex library editions, so maybe some books were so 'obscure' they only ever made it onto library shelves.
Like has already been suggested make it clear on your listing that it is an ex library copy and all will be well.

Hi Dawn1,
for sending books internationally I often am able to use the Printed Papers rate as that is sometimes a little cheaper than the normal small packet airmail rate (for world zones 1 & 2) and you usually don't have to fill in a customs label (unless it is to Canada - they like lots and lots of info apparently!!!). I think it is always cheaper to send Printed Papers rate to Europe. Grab a pricing leaflet whilst you are in the PO and you can check out the rates to different parts of the world.
If you have a good PO the postmaster/mistress should always let you know the cheapest option!
I would just love some sales - international or not!!!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -

As so many buyers dont read the sellers comments box I would also recommend trying to contact the buyer before despatch to make sure they realise its an ex library book they are getting. This stops any shock factor and bad feedback as a result.
Usually if they only want the book for reference its fine but if the book is to be a gift then normally ex library wouldnt be acceptable unless its very rare.0 -
Regarding library books, I would also ensure it has a withdrawn stamp, as I sold a very old book and the customer suspected it had been stolen and contacted the library concerned and after numerous emails to them and myself, finally accepted their confirmation that the book had been withdrawn many years ago!
It was a right palaver and had me in a bit of a state at the time! I have sold other library books, no problem. Unfortunately my library have taken to writing the price in thick black biro in a place you cannot remove it from!!!, so the customer would know I had only paid 40p or whatever for it, so that puts me off incase they would mention it in feedback!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

A week ago I received an email regarding an undelivered item, and it seemed that a few sellers had received similar. I wrote twice to the customer advising them to wait a couple more days, and also to check with their sorting office etc.
and then to get back to me.
Well I heard nothing, and was away for a few days on hols, so when I came back last night there was an A-Z claim from them saying that despite contacting me, they had heard nothing blah blah. So of course I refunded immediately but it is wierd that they did not receive my emails. Does this now count against me having one of these claims??? I hope these dont leave feedback.
I should have listened to you AT advising me to refund with gritted teeth, but I was not sure if it was a get the goods and get your money back situation!
Another learning experience.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi Larmy
It's not unusual for emails not to get through to buyers if their email account has a particularly 'aggressive' spam filter.
I had some discussions with CS last year regarding A-Z claims and I understand that if you refund then it is no longer an A-Z claim. Apparently A-Z claims do not count against sellers as such, however, buyers are limited to 5 lifetime claims.

Hi - how is everyone?
Sales are still very slow for me - but I only have about 65 books listed, so I probably need to list some more...
Does anyone use the online postage service where you can print off your postage from the royal mail site - complete with neat address etc? A friend who ebays showed me one of her parcels, and it does look professional (I have terrible handwriting so printed addresses are a bonus!!) http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump3?catId=400043&mediaId=26800663
Good luck with your challenges everyone
