My dream is to have a freezer that looks like a shelf of books when you open it, we have a long way to go yet !!
I used to tell OH about posts like this to make him think I was normal but it just made him think I have friends as weird as me.

I've never frozen chips though - I always make them fresh (or send OH to the fish n chip shop).

    I freeze potato wedges :D
I cook them about 3/4 of the way through, cool and freeze on a tray. Then bag when they are frozen.
I dont really notice a taste difference :)

Well so far so good, we've spent less than £40 so far.

Got loads of rice and potatoes in, but we have now ran out of cheese and eggs not good especially in our house.

Going to have a go at making these, they look tasty. Not sure what were having with them yet.

    feta and potato patties.
    500g potatoes
    115g feta cheese
    3tbsp chopped fresh dill
    4 spring onions chopped
    1 tbsp lemon juice
    1 egg beaten
    flour for dredging
    3 tbsp olive oil
    salt / pepper

boil potatoes in skins in water till soft. drain and peel them, while warm and mash.
Crumble feta, seasoning, dill, lemon juice, onions, potatoes and egg and stir well.

Cover the mixture and chill till firm.
Divide mixture in small balls and flatten slightly.
Dredge with flour and fry till golden brown.
    Serve at once.

Hmmm wonder if we might have them chilli and nacho's

I would love a tidy freezer! I will get there one day soon - when I have got rid of all the lurking junk that I keep putting off using (still haven't made the fish pie!)

OH bought me pizza at lunch time so am only going to have a small tea tonight - maybe jacket potato with something? Only thing is they never seem to go quite right in the oven....

tried posting this earlier, but it didn't stick

re skype - thought I would try unloading and re-loading it, then thought I would see if there were any updates pending that might be the problem

pressing the update button had no effect until I changed status from 'invisible' to 'online'. No updates, but suddenly hundreds of messages loaded

so, if you are having problems with your skype, it's something else to try

I have made them once when I have the tail end of a sack of potatoes that are sad, soft and sprouty. I fried them once at a lowish temp until they were part cooked and then let them cool, and open froze them. When we wanted to eat them I fried them at a higher temp straight from frozen. They were delicious, but it was quite a bit of effort really for something so cheap to buy, I wouldn't do it unless I had spuds that needed using and I do try to resist the lure of 'proper' chips!
