It would be great if Jackie and Flutterby could make a meet too.

OK I think I am going to start a new thread and gauge some interest :D

Changing the subject completely the Christmas Wreath for the door of Number 10 Downing Street is being made by a local farm, where I used to buy my real Christmas trees in the days BC (before children ;)).
We walk along one of their fields with all their Christmas trees growing and the kids love it (as do I :o - makes me feel all festive in Winter).

Now that your eyes have glazed over with that pointless info I shall head off and start the Meet up thread ;)

That looks fantastic! Does it heat the room too?

Apparently I gave birth to three little boys... Got home and straight away I'm pounced on to help sew halloween outfits! And I've got to carry all their wallets in my handbag tonight because there are no pockets in tights, t-shirts or paper mache shieds... God help me :rotfl:

Oooh I was looking at coffee machines on ebay and came across a manual milk frother with rave reviews, it looked suspiciously like a french press... Five minutes later I've got a DIY cappuccino :D success!

Does it heat the room? Better than that, it's managing to heat the whole house, even the attic room. :T

It's taking some time to get used to leaving doors open all over the house but that allows the heat to circulate and, so far, it's doing an amazing job. The house has never been so cosy and I've got upstairs windows open.:D

  • The website is a nonsense isn't it Flutterby, some friends had arranged to sort out tickets for us all to go, and each one of them has had no luck at all, I have been trying periodically as well, but getting nowhere. :(

It's not like it came out of the blue! They should have been prepared for the huge demand. That's the annoying thing. Gonna give up soon.

OK - it would appear that a Birmingham meet is on the cards :T
Shall I start a separate thread for that?

I take it this would be during the day on a weekend. with regards to where to go erm erm goodness Brum is a big place. Do you want to eat or just go somewhere we can natter in peace? Are we going to try and squeeze this in before Christmas or shall we organise for January, just worried that it might be a bit of a push before Christmas but of course I'll go with the majority :D[/QUOTE]

Yes January sounds good to me.;) I don't know Birmingham either but food and a nice chat sounds good.........

    Up date on OH....

I was in this afternoon, he was asleep when I got there, but is so much better and brighter, I stayed for almost an hour. We are not sure if the Haddington hospital will accept him, we just have to wait and see. I found a case of bad housekeeping whilst we were there a massive cobweb, from the window to the curtain!!

I have brought some stuff home that is no longer required, more washing....

Just cooking fish and chips for my supper.......
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hi all, hope you are all doing ok.

We are going out for tea tonight to our local Italian, they do a cheapie 3 course on Fridays and DH came home and said he wanted to go-he got paid off a job today. So the beef I have lovingly had in the slow cooker all day will be shunted along to tomorrow.

I felt sick all day as my lovely hound was going to the vets this afternoon :o- he's not been himself for a while, and keeps doing intermittent yelps of pain when he gets up,which tears me up.

Our vet is great, and really likes our gentle giant- she's had him walking up and down the surgery garden, round in circles, you name it.She says his heart sounds fine,he's a good colour round the mouth, ears ok,and doesnt think its a tumour on his long bones(which large dogs are prone to),so could most probably be a disc problem in his neck.So he's got anti inflammatory/ painkiller for a week to see if there is any improvement. The difficulty would be to X-ray him,it would take 3 people to lift him onto the table, and would take 6 plates. She said as he's insured,it might be better to take him to the Vet hospital in Liverpool for an MRI scan, but hopefully it won't come to that, and it'll settle with the meds, which I've just squirted into his food.

Anyway,I'm starving now :rotfl:.Better go and have a wash and change. My OS for today was making more cards this afternoon - I'm up to about 40 now, think I need around 70.

    Bye for now x

Rosyred, sending healing vibes for the Gentle Giant. What is the anti-inflammatory he's been given, just out of curiosity? One of my little canine guests was on Meloxicam, which she had to have squirted onto a slice of salami each morning. Her companion got a slice as well, sans medication, so that she didn't feel left out.:o

Hope your little doggie is ok Rosyred - hugs x As you probably remember I made some little sponge buns for Pops to have her medicine on - she is on Metacam. It has now become the norm for both dogs to have their cake in the mornings - one with and one without. Pops has got cute though and I have to drip it onto little pieces - too much and she spits it out! The lengths we go for our fur babies but they so deserve it!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
