  • Ooh, ooh. Need to share and you guys are the only people I know who might understand...

A couple of weeks ago we finally had this installed (took many months to save up to pay for all the necessaries) and I now have a casserole dish bubbling away, cooking dinner. :j:j:j

Still have to get the hang of regulating the stove; I've had to put the pot on top of the stove as it was blasting away in the little oven.

    Happy, happy nanny. :D

    Hi all.

Thenanny - I just love that stove!

(((Hugs))) to all those who are feeling unwell or nursing poorlie ones. It's that time of year, isn't it? Coughs, colds, flu and so on - just waiting to attack.

Redruby - (((hugs))) to your mum. It must be a worry. I worry about mine now that I am so far away, but at least she has moved to be closer to my sister so I worry a bit less these days. My sister takes very good care of her, and they are currently doing the rounds of doctor, dentist and optician to make sure she is set up for the winter. She really struggled during last winter because she couldn't get out, and she usually likes to take at least one walk a day. It nearly drove her mad being cooped up when it was icy everywhere. She's also been offered an elderly cat which she's really excited about.

    Donny-Gal - have a good trip!

Well, I'd better go and do something useful. Dinner will be sausage casserole which, now that we've found our brilliant local English pork farm, will be delicious! Best sausages we've found so far!

    Hi everyone.

Big hugs n snugs to those feeling grotty including me who has a serious case of man flu (even though i'm a woman :p )

A midlands meet would be great!!!!!

Anyone seen any cheap tissues :(?

Well I always buy Sainsbury's Basics, last time I bought a box they were 25p. OK they are only 2 ply and no balm but when I've bought "posh" ones I still end up with a red sore nose :o The basics are cheap enough to use to blow once and bin.

OK - it would appear that a Birmingham meet is on the cards :T
Shall I start a separate thread for that?

I take it this would be during the day on a weekend. with regards to where to go erm erm goodness Brum is a big place. Do you want to eat or just go somewhere we can natter in peace? Are we going to try and squeeze this in before Christmas or shall we organise for January, just worried that it might be a bit of a push before Christmas but of course I'll go with the majority :D

  • If you do it in January I could go, and the train would be cheap if I book in good time :D

  • Afternoon All

DH and DS are demolishing the old shed ready to build the new one tomorrow.

We have a wasps nest in the loft and DH is allergic to stings - I was going to phone the council but they want £45 so they can get stuffed  .
As luck has it my bank account has home emergency cover and pest removal is part of it, so I have a man on his way as we chat, they are so fast too :D. I would probably had to wait a week for the council to get their fingers out

Was going to town on my scooter but the wind is just too cold so I will leave it until tomorrow.

    Happy Birthday Onestep:bdaycake:

Csarina (((((((Hugs)))))) to you and OH.

Well I am off to make my boys a hot drink they must be frozen ( I made a lovely mushroom soup with fresh crusty bread for lunch, hopefully that has kept them insulated a bit)

    Keep safe everyone x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

STILL can't get blooming Take That tickets - websites and phonelines still crashing/busy .

I can probably get to Birmingham for a meet :j - if I can get cheap train/bus tickets, it's about 3hours away. I have friends there who I can stay with.

Good day at work :D The 2 grumpy ones from yesterday didn't turn up (which I was secretly pleased about :o) so that made life a bit easier. They will be disappointed with their pay next week :rotfl:. The other 10 work so hard bless them :A we shifted 6tonne of topsoil into flower beds we built in the summer, and tidied up the garden of the school.

OS wise - WM is on with towels and work teatowels. Hopefully they will dry overnight. Not sure what I'm having for tea yet, will look in fridge for inspiration.

    Have a good evening all

    Just an update

Looked on the Evans website, and found a pair of black leather boots with a little heel which look just right, went via Quidco, and they still have the 20% off until the end of today anyway, but checked on vouchers on hotukdeals, and found 2 more one for free delivery, and the other for an extra 20% off so £50.88 for wide high legs boots, and less the 8% Quidco even better. Any if they do not fit or are not right, I can just take them back to their shop = Service!!
Sorry you are missing your meet JG

  • The website is a nonsense isn't it Flutterby, some friends had arranged to sort out tickets for us all to go, and each one of them has had no luck at all, I have been trying periodically as well, but getting nowhere. :(

That looks fantastic! Does it heat the room too?

Apparently I gave birth to three little boys... Got home and straight away I'm pounced on to help sew halloween outfits! And I've got to carry all their wallets in my handbag tonight because there are no pockets in tights, t-shirts or paper mache shieds... God help me :rotfl:

Oooh I was looking at coffee machines on ebay and came across a manual milk frother with rave reviews, it looked suspiciously like a french press... Five minutes later I've got a DIY cappuccino :D success!
