Morning all, ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one, especially Jackie, sorry you have to miss the trip, but I am sure the pressure in the plane would not have done your ears much good.

Well news this morning...OH is quite chipper, they are looking at moving him, dep[ends what the hospital at Haddington says, if they are prepared to take his as the bug can remain in the faeces for a while sorry tmi. If haddinton will not accept him he has to stay at the western for rehabilitation, that will go down well with him, he has to see the DOE.....director of the elderly, no wonder the NHS is in such a mess, whats wrong with a consultant????? He was not too happy about being classed as elderly either, thinks he is still young and until this episode fit.

I have baked a lemon drizzle cake to take in for him, have a long list of stuff he wants and I have to bring back things he does not want/ is not using.

Its a bit of a grey day here, tried to rain a while ago and its blowing a hoolie. Have a couple of jobs to do before I go to the hospital and need to sort the fire for tonight.

Another fair nights sleep, woke just after 8.30, was eating my breakfast in bed when OH rang........he rang early last night as well, so no waiting around for a call.

Hope everyone at the Dublin meet has a really good time, I am hoping to get to the Edinburgh one at the end of next month, OH should be ok by then and I can leave him for a short while.

Right offsky for a coffee and sort out what OH wants.......

Brum would be ok for me as its just over an hour away - come down in your van Donny:D I'd love to come to Yorkshire one day - not been since I was at school and we stopped at York university on a music holiday.

hi Taplady and Donny-I can make Brum too-not too far for a meet. I think Girlysquare and Gailey are from Bristol and Winchelsea is close.....

Happy birthday OneStep

Looking forward to Dublin meet to-morrow, think that there will just be 4 of us, JackieG will be much missed but really wouldn't be a good idea to fly with her ear infection.

Gales here last night....blew down half of an old tree at the back of garden, will probably have to cut the rest of it now....will get someone in as OH would surely top himself in the effort to top the tree, if you know what I mean!

House is a complete mess and has a wonderful smell of fresh paint....living room to be finished to-day I think, need to sort things to put back in a less cluttered manner, boxes needed to get that done.

Csarina....glad to hear that OH is improving by the day....how dare the hospital consider him elderly! have trouble with those kind of terms myself.

OH just making a cup of tea, will then get on with the sorting out, pork chops with mash and peas for dinner, was thinking of making a butternut squash risotto but would have to travel 7 miles to get squash, so won't bother.

DD2 on her final whirl with the girls before she heads off in the morning, have hardly seen her the last couple of days, she is very happy with the freedom having her own (hired) car has given her, she usually borrows mine when its free.

thats great:j. I dont know Birmingham myself but maybe Bitsy does as she's closer.

I've been decluttering this morning and got some things to freecycle.
Having some HM leek and potato soup for lunch - then later on to the pasty making as the pastry is nearly defrosted. Only got enough for 2 or 3 but am going to have one for my tea.
Just waiting for DH to come home now for his lunch.

Just a quick visit to say that the BG man arrived at 6.20pm, left at 7.45pm, and will be back tomorrow morning to fit some more bits as the boiler died again overnight......the company that made the gas fire is now out of business, so our gas fitter is trying to source new innards for it.....on the bright side, DH is home for the weekend so I can warm my cold feet on him
