Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28-10-10. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Damp here again today, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast eaten, fish fed.
I need to pop to the butchers soon as it's payday today, then I shall do some dressmaking, I've chosen which fabric from my stash I'm using for my bunting & I have a couple of tops cut out ready to sew. Steak & chips for tea, a special treat for hubby as he's worked 12 days without a break.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning my lovelies

Me and both the kids are full of a grotty cold
Got a birthday party today for the kids, thankfully its close as don't have the energy to go on a trek somewhere.
Not sure what OS will be going on today. Still want to make my onion chutney as I want one jar for a Xmas present, better pull my finger out
H out to a suprise birthday party tonight :eek:so tea will be a freezer affair.
jellybaby - good luck with your op today xx
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning,
Feels damp here again, but its very mild, off to work today but at least its Friday :T
DD still in bed, I will get her up before I go to work, her jobs today will be empty and reload dw, and tidy kitchen.
Dinner tonight is hot dogs in rolls, sweetcorn and wedges, dd can prep the wedges for me.
Had a very teary phone call from my mum last night, she is finding it really difficult to cope with dad, she said my brother has not been up, (but she excuses this, cos he is her blue eyed boy) and my sis has not been up or phoned for weeks, I think we are going to have to get together and organise a rota for going up there to give mum a break, although I can almost guarantee that the other two wont stick to it
I hope those of you meeting up enjoy the meet, and Jackie G I hope you managed to get there x
Have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning all,up with the lark this morning ,have made a shepards pie for eldest DD so when she gets home later today she doesn't have to cook .Not a good idea if your feeling jet-lagged.I have to follow youngest DD to Kwikfits as she need a new exhust on her car to get it through the MOT.So its a busy morning for me .plus I am hoping to get a trim at my hairdressers as I am dissappearing behind a hedge that is my hair.Fingers crossed she can fit me in today.
No shopping today but i think we shall be taking the boys to the park unless its raining in which case we will play some board games with them.last day of half term and its just flown Hope everyone has a good day
Cheers chums

morning!
quiet here today!
Forgot to give DS a wake-up call(he sleeps through his alarm) so we had to throw our clothes on and drive down to the bus stop - just made it - he's off to see his girlfriend and there's only 1 bus a day.
Just going to have a bit of breakfast before I start my jobs. Day off today.
Going to make some veggie pasties later once the pastry has defrosted. Tidy and clean house. Get washing upto date. do a bit of decluttering.Hoping for a bit of time to read my book too later.
JackieG - hope you made it to the meet(wish I was there - we need a Midlands one)
(((hugs))) to all the poorly ones
back later xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

My impromptu day off will mean I can get a load of MS jobs done today to make the weekend a little easier!
Made some lentil soup last night for DH coming in as he was working outside at a fireworks display and is full of cold. Plenty left for today and i may freeze some for work next week.
I have 5 jobs tomorrow where I have to spend £10 on food in each so I'll meal plan and do a shopping list tonight and pick some things up tomorrow as well as some treats! Also have one at a shop that sells console games which I will use to pick up a present and also another at a homeware store where I'll pick up christmas cards and things - need to stop trying to ignore christmas and just get on with it!
Have a good day xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Just having a coffee, early for me:o For someone who could never get beyond 6am at best, 8.30am has now become my norm.
Hoping JackieG's ear is better today, and than she gets to the NI meet, and hope all going have a great time. If you want to see my ramblings about my mooch round town yesterday, then they are at the end of yesterday's thread. Daft how it really energized me.
Anyway need to put the last bits in the 'van and get off by lunch, will only be on Bberry if at all over the weekend. Not worth me buying mobile BB for the amount of time out of the house atm.
On our return must attack the back bedroom/study/dump as have had a bit of a can't be !!!!!d mood on, and it looks like a tip, give me a kick on Monday and keep nagging me please.
Where are all our "oldies", H-J, Smoky,
Cranky, Snowy, etc., etc., Poke heads in and say hi folks.
((hugs)), spoons, hi-5's.

Morning everyone - back home last night and had the unpacking lethargy thing going. I can pack a suitcase in a whizz but unpacking just seems to go on for ever! However we are off on a short break north of the border today so forced myself to get on with it last night.
Got loads to do this morning (apart from work that is) before going off later today.
We had defrosted carrot and coriander soup last night with some bacon bits in, also added some oat bran for fibre and thickening and then spooned over some sour cream, really yummy.
Will HAVE to do the washing up today before we leave. Have been toying with the idea of a dishwasher but can't get up more than a tiny bit of enthusiasm.
Sorry for no individual comments but I wish everyone a great day. For those who are ill then I send you some healing thoughts.0 -
