I dislike most censorship, it's a free country and unless there are exceptional circumstances people should be able to say what they should be able to say what they like.

This however is a private forum and one must obey the house rules, however if cenorship is in operation it should at least be consistent. I like several other posters especially in the Arms like to push boundaries to the limits. Sometimes I get one or two posts cut and think fair enough probably did overstep the mark a bit there.

I'm renowed for being smutty, I prefer to use the word saucy, as I don't believe I've ever posted anything that has been too sexually explicit, yet I've seen many that have. I don't report these posts, I'm not childish enough to do that.

Recently I've seen especially in DT thread after thread post after post being chopped for comments about child abuse and the priesthood. Why? I know the rules say treat religions with respect, but this isn't so much a religious issue but a child abuse issue and why a section of society has been allowed to do it and be protected by the organization that employs them.

I've made a couple of gags about pedos on here, both were totally harmless, but because they contained 'the word' they were pulled. These people should be ridiculed, better that, than not being able to mention them.

Images, I've seen all sorts of images on here, topless bottomless and many in between. I've posted loads of photos on here, many in just my shorts, none have ever been pulled, because none have ever been in the slightest indecent and most have been set up for people to have a laugh at or photoshop.

Yet the other night I posted this image



and it was pulled. Why? It is not at all indecent.

Swearing is another example I've seen many posts containing very bad language some have been chopped some haven't just another example of inconsistency.

It seems to me that censorship is all about pressing the abuse button. The team or the board guides obviously don't have time to read every post but is everything sent to abuse automatically chopped if so it shouldn't be the post should be looked at and if it does not contravene the forum rules it should not be deleted. If there are not standards as to what is and what is not acceptable, it opens the door to abuse button pushers dictating the terms and using it it to attack specific posters who they dislike.

I'm not whinging all I'm asking for is consistency.

Why are some abusive posts deleted within minutes, whereas others can take several days or weeks to be deleted after being reported? Why aren't they dealt with in order of being received?

Why doesn't the abuse team (appear to) work at weekends?

Why are some posts moved from the main Competions board to "Regulars," while others are left there and their clear "Daily/ Weekly / Monthly" status is never challenged? What makes these competitions different and therefore "Allowed" to stay where more people can see them and enter? After all. isn't that the point of the forum?
There's been much debate on this and the general feeling seems to be that folk want them posted on the main boards too as they rarely venture into the Regulars. A link to the comp posted in Regulars with valued forum -users collating them, as in the daillies, weeklies, even the advents, seems to be a popular compromise. What d'you reckon?
