Yo Be honest OP, I think this is less about how your OH gets to work, more that either you dot like him working, or dont like where he works
Are you maybe resentful of him being away so much while you look after the baby??
If thats the case, then it doesnt matter what people suggest on here, you're asking the wrong questions, and talking to the wrong people.

There is an old saying 'where there is a will there is a way' and I am sorry to say I don't see much will here.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
The Lord Giveth and the Government Taketh Away.
I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Look the employers are being accommodating - I take it they are going to be giving him lifts at the weekend shifts right? Bear in mind what you are going to be saving on petrol money through not having your car. I have no idea why you are being so against using taxis as it is the most viable option as far as I can see.
So far as old bangers go - go and physically visit some local second hand car garages. Most of them have part ex vehicles stuck out the back that they would love to get rid of. You won't find them advertised because they won't want to include warranties and suchlike for them. Garages often scrap part ex vehicles when they've got plenty of life in them.
I honestly think you are making problems in your own head as you've said you got a loan organised so use it! What do you plan on using to pay for the insurance on the car that your parents give you in January? What happens when MOT comes up and services, why do you have zero money available for anything that might happen? Surely when you have something like coming up you have contingency that something else can be let go? Use the loan to buy a banger or get taxis. He gets paid in 10 days time and then you should be okay.0 -
