Tesco are no better or no worse than any of the other Supermarkets, infact they are my supermarket of choice, they offer a very generous policy of refund and retain, the criticism layed at their door is unfair at times, yes I enjoy getting an r&r and quite frankly I don't see it as doing anything wrong.
I take issue with them for banning people for claiming an r&r for being overcharged, I also take issue with managers and CS Staff who behave like bullies, but lets be fair to Tesco and the majority of their staff.
:T I agree totally :T :T :T0 -

Fully agree with everything you have said.
But this woman was being a bully. She was shouting at staff in front of customers and to "get that poster down NOW!" and "I don't want to see ANY by one get one free posters on the department otherwise they'll be a price to pay". This is no way to treat staff, and she was totaly serious as well.
I fully respect all of Tescos staff and yes sometimes they are treated unfairly but to have bullys like this and others working there is not acceptable.
Especially when they say they don't know what a R&R policy is!Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000

Anybody know what that's about
*Probably* having a little joke at your expense. Anyone remember someone posting on here about 3 months ago that they had been told by a Tesco manager that he wasn't bothered any more because he'd just had a memo stating the policy was ending the week after?
Edit: (paraonoid mode engaged) Having said that, the CS bods HAVE been very pleasant lately. I wonder if they know summat??I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

nukekickboxer wrote:Hi i have just got back from The big tescos in leeds. This was my first R&R on some steak. There was a big yellow SEL with the price per Kg on at £10.28 instead of £12.87. So i had a luck and i found 2 packets still prices at £12.87. I paid for my shopping, left and walked back in. I told the CS and he said that it was not a over price and he would only offer my money back so after talking with him showing him the policy behind him he gets the duty manager. She comes and says i know what your doing your in here all the time doing this (Quite strange as that is the 2nd time i have actually been in that store) and i tell her this. So i show her where the packets where and she has a look for about 2 minutes and tells me she doesn’t see what i mean. I show her the price differences and she then says "well its not a over price" and i discus this with her and then she comes out and says "the expiry date of the meat is different to the other packets so it doesn’t count" so i ask her to ring CS head office and she tells me she will not do that. after about 5 minutes she finally gives me the phone number but refuses to ring it and then walks off. After talking the CS on the phone he aggress with me and talks to the manager. she them starts lying on the phone and says that it was down a complete different aisle to where the yellow SEL was. so the CS on the phone refuses to believe me any more. So i left very embarrassed and very unhappy at how i was spoke to.
I doubt i will try r&r'ing again after this
I had a phone call while shopping and had to go pick someone up so was in a hurry, the £18 joint of beef I had at SEL5.18/kg that went through at 5.98/kg but the guy at the CS desk knew me from some fosters lager refunds a week or so earlier so he decided he was going to refuse the refund. He got quite irate about it and was refusing to even come and look at the SEL so he could see the overcharge, so knowing I had no time I took the refund and left the meat. I then took him to the aisle as i was going to get the SEL myself but he wouldnt let me... and showed him the price and the error but he still said its not a misprice ... i had to say to him, I am letting you win this time and walking away but we both know I am right ... he was still blustering about it as I went.
9 days later, same store I picked up a £16 joint as the incorrect SEL was still in place. This time I had the time to sit it out but there was no need, a nice new CS lady was happy to give me the refund once she had the meat man check it was the same product and he came back with the correct SEL of 5.98/kg when printing a new one of the back office and told her to do what she had to do (refund me). I realised as I was leaving the first time, i was actually giving them the satisfaction of winning, and it might bolster them up to do it to more people, but as I say, pressed for time and no other option.
That particular CS guy (he has a slightly effeminate way of talking so people know who I mean) probably doesnt read here, I think he has just taken a dislike to seeing me too many timesIf he is reading here though, I will be sure to see you in the very near future and I will make sure I have the time to sit it out :money:

And i have no wish to hear what little things you have pulled.......mrs.littlejohn knows the little things methinks....
Edit... i never asked you if you dissapproved..... i only asked people who i cared may have an opinion ...
how do i resemble a goldfish ?
Further edit...itscheapandiwantit doesn't purport to be intelligent...too busy playing on free xbox 360's
And your edits last night on myself and another mse'r appearing during the console issue......funny we were both registered here before you ..........0 -
anyone actually returned an item and checked their points to see if they were still there..
An xbox for example clocks up 300pts. So might be worth buying and returning. Although that might not be too ethical but certainly if R&Rs go bad at least u keep points.0
