a copy of my banning letter.
    dear *************
futher to previous incidents in-store and to our previous conversation I write to confirm that you are now excluded from shopping with Tesco Stores ltd with immediate effect.
this exclusion applies to all of our stores across all formats (express/metro/extra)
this is a decision we do not take lightly, and its only in extreme circmstances we take such action.
I can appreciate your views and I sorry if your unhappy with this decision.

(Sorry its took so long to post it, my childs been ill.)
  • Does anyone know if this misprice is still mispriced?

I'd love to get this for my OH for Xmas but it's a 30 mile round trip to my nearest store.

Been looking for this this morning - but not on offer in the Aylesbury shops any more.

I'm pretty new to this - is it ok to use your clubcard for these r&r's? Will they get you quicker? .... if you see what I mean.

Definitely better NOT to use your Clubcard. Big Brother is watching you!
Also use cash, not debit/credit cards, that way if they ask for your name and address you can use your imagination! ;)

I know they are doing it but really this is so wrong, banning people for pointing out their overprices, I am sure the press will have a field day when you all get together.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Very sad and sorry to read this mistreatment to a fellow MSEr.

Please dont worry, many of us here are or have come close to receiving such letters. ( I have been banned too). You have several angles to recover your status, your self respect and obtain a full apology from Mr T.

I would suggest you write back asking H/O to explain what they mean by " previous incidents in store" and exactly when, where and what happened according to the store. Specifically say you were not accused of theft, violence, abuse etc.....and ask them to confirm that as so.

Once they confirm it is none of those, the balance of probability ( legal term) rises that it is/was because of R&R,......!!!

TYour "ban letter" does not come appear to be legally phrased and I doubt it is from Tesco Legal Dept, and especially as it differs from my own ban letter. It is likely just a section manager in H/O.

Overall........Tesco dont want customers exposing them .(the sign says....... "in unlikely circumstances we charge you more".....) ........but by banning us they lay themselves open to public scrutiny......that they could actually prefer to simply prevent the unwised public from knowing.....and to continue charging (over the sel price).thousands of unsuspecting customers !!!! :naughty: .......

    double breach of the law.....

......they were wrong when you found them out (pointed it out at c/s desk) and also wrong to prevent you "helping" them avoid prosecution from Trading Standard........consider the R&R policy as a sweetener (soft bribe) to keep our mouths shut:silenced:

Send your letter to c/s H/O...not Terry Leahy just yet anyhow.....you may find you will be sent a rather larger sweetener (ex gratria payment)....with your ultimate apology from Tesco ....

    Keep us informed.

Do you mind if I ask how you got caught, like how much had you been R&Ring?

Is that all the letter said? Seems a bit short to me. Who did this come from? (I dont expect a name just a position)

Sorry for all the questions, I'd just like to know what to expect if I get one as I was banned from a store last week and would have probably been banned from a second had I not spotted what was going on and avoided it.

I think the whole banning thing stinks, how the hell can they enforce a nationwide ban anyway?

Say for instance you went on holiday or something to the other end of the country, went into a Tescos, didnt use cash or your clubcard, how would they be able to know if you were banned or not?

I'm not going into the store I got banned from (for the time being at least) but if I were to get a national ban like that I would take NO NOTICE of it whatsoever if I were further afield and going into a shop I'd not been in before. If I then got told to leave I would want to know how they knew I was banned and how to spot me seeing as the passing of my photo/details etc. is against DPA laws.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Isn't McDonag on here any mre. He used to be on all the time.

I notice Monster Deals talks the same way - maybe they are twins?

No I am still here, r&r is not my life though and have other stuff to do but I am always looking.

I am amused that you think I would be bothered to change my identity.

r&r'ing certainly isn't worth me applying for the Witness Protection Programme.

I do have a twin though, in real life, spooky.

  • advice pls.........just been refused r&r on BUDWEISER 10 PACKS 2 FOR £14.....cs girl (absolutely gorgeous by the way) said offer ended yesterday and all she could do was refund the item if i didn`t want it. Argued the toss a little bit then just left it. What next?
When things in life start to weigh heavy on your shoulders, and people all around are having a go, just smile and think.......Fxxk em!

Nationwide ban. LMAO. Like they are going to be able to enforce such a thing. Cash is king, and NO clubcards. Be thankful for the free stuff without the points. You know it makes sense....
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
