Don't be put off by Hippy Knickers, remember from Taxiphils post in the ethics thread:
'The Godfather" El Tel ("Sir" Terry Leahy), told a CBI conference in 2004 that "all's fair in business", and he's overseen Tesco's growth in accordance with this ethic. He made the statement in repsonse to an allegation that the phenomenal power of Tesco has disfigured the British high street forever by closing down thousands of small independent retailers.
"All's fair in business". Presumably that means that if it's "legal", then morals don't enter the equation. That's my interpretation anyway.
I just thought people should know the way The Godfather's mind works.
"All's fair in business". No morals, no regrets, no tears.
Sounds like a motto we should all adopt when screwing every penny we can out of this bunch of hard-faced scheming b*stards.'
Let Battle commence, get out there and stick it up them, again and again and again and again.

I think chosing whether to exploit the policy or not is a personal choice.
It comes down to morals of each individual person, you are either an ethical honest person who lives by decent standards, or you are not.
I think the type of person that does it deliberately in a big way is perhaps the same sort of person you would not want to buy a secondhand car from.
Sorry if that offends, but that is my view on thi matter.

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Constantine, have you heard anything about this letter being sent out? Obviously, it's possibly going to affect all stores, as there will be requests from customers to see duty managers to find out if they are allowed to shop there.
On a personal level, what's your opinion of HO's latest move against R&Rers?
Spa, same questions to you...:)
Pretty weak letter, imo. Either your banned or you are not. Whats all this "please Sir can I come in?" nonsense?
A store does not need to give a reason to deny entrance, btw. Private property, y'see.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

Hi, Constantine do you have serial r&r'ers in your store, how do you deal with it as a store manager trying to control shrinkage.
Please feel free not to answer if you feel its an innapropriate question.0 -

No, as far as I know I do not have serial refunders at my store. It would be untrue to say I never have miss-prices, but I do not have many. My price integrity staff are pretty good and I take a personal interest myself.
R and R does not contribute to shrink (unknown loss), it contributes to waste (known loss). Thats a big enough headache without adding freebies to customers to itWho or what was I before you came in to my life

I have thrown people out. Forcibly, on a couple of occasions...
Only bans I have ever enforced have involved shoplifting, threatening behaviour, drug abuse/dealing or actual bodily harm (to another customer or staff).

A CS advisor tried to give me the differnce yestersday on two of the games i had and she said the third one i could have free and i said "I know the tesco policy" she said " oh i thought you would!" and smirked! I then had a huge argument with her as i said "the fact of the matter is you've overcharged me on 16 fosters,3 games and a dvd... what if i was a little old lady who didnt check her reciept, you would have charged her 22.99 for a dvd which is advertised as 9.97" she then said "no i wouldnt have let tat happen as i would have give her a full refund!!" so i said "so coz i'm not over 60 your gonna try and give me the difference?" she didnt say anything..
Think i'll dressup as a granny next time to make the ride smoother..
The cheek of her...how they treat people different!!0 -

Sorry....of course i knew that...it was a tongue in cheek reply to spa2k's comment to you re "do you think we are wanted on here"(or the like)..........
and in my reference to not associating you to tescoemployee, I tried to show that I distance you both and your opinions from his.....Couponing....."every little hurts"
