Hi there - please can somebody advise me.
I have just been to Tescos and bought a mobile phone. The shelf label stated £89.97 however we were charged £89.99. So I went to customer services and the lady went off to check and came back and said she would give me the 2p difference, then I pointed out the policy in front of the till she phoned for the manager. The manager came and said that he was the deputy and was in training so could not authorise a refund for that amount, so he took my full name and address with telephone number and promised to phone me back tomorrow. I was then waiting in the queue for my lottery tickets and the deputy manager came back up to me and showed me the label. It was actually a label for a Tesco mobile phone not the T Mobile phone that I had purchased. He said that the label was for another product and had been put in front of the T mobile phones by mistake so all he could offer me was to return the mobile and give me a refund. Where do I stand on this ?

    thanks for reading :)

As I understand it, this is not an r&r ?, simply the wrong label next to the phone ?

Hey dude - I have to point out that I did not have a trolley load of stuff and never have had to quibble about. It is usually the odd piece of meat and bits and bobs (plus a PSP - Thanks again!). I only shop there once a week and if in that weekly shop I find a misprice, regardless of size or quantity I will draw it to the CS attention, if it gets up their nose, well that's a problem they have with themselves and they should not take it out on me (nor any other shopper). Surely they have training specifically to work behind these counters but obviously they must be absent when it was the day they dealt with manners and attitude towards customers.

Hi. I think you are going to have trouble getting anywhere with this one. Unless you are sure the label was for the correct phone that you bought, and even then it's your word agaibst theirs.

Others may have a different take on it but it seems a legitimate mistake whether by a staff person or a customer putting the wrong phone box in the wrong slot.

If you are sure the label related to the phone you bought things would be different. See what others think, but I wouldn't be 100% about this one.

Wow, there seems to be a severe bout of Dude dissing on here today.

I hope you are all still enjoying your PSP's that he prompted you to go forth and r&r.

The Dude tries to speak common sense and has been here longer than most, maybe that's because he believes in moderation, takes a chill pill before getting to the CS desk or is just naturally so laid back he's horizontal.

But most of what the Dude says makes perfect sense. Moderation. Battle vs. War. Attitude.

So I, for one, say The Dude is cool, even if his knickers are made of yoghurt(whatever that means.)

I think you are making mischief, nobody is dissing Dude !, just a difference of opinion thats all. Dude is taking an approach that suits him and thats cool, I just think it makes the job more difficult for others and makes its seem acceptable to CS staff to bully weaker customer.

Our self scan tills now have chip n pin....

I complained at Tesco Silverburn when the store opened a couple of months ago that you could spend £200 and only swipe a card. Complained again today and was told that the are being removed in two weeks until Chip n Pin ones can be fitted. Think they only took action after the recent bad press.

Cotsvale - If you are still with us - Would it not be possible for you to just type a transcript of the letter that you have received if you are having problems getting a copy of the original letter on the forum? I'm sure we would all just like to read the wording for possible future reference. Thanks

The alternative is to blank out all personal info using something like MS Paint, then use https://www.imageshack.com to host the jpg.

Cheers matey - and for the record Georgiac has consitently refused to take any bungs from me - ever ;)

I don't mind too much being subject to any 'dissing' - the Dude has broad and mellow shoulders.

I've read my recent posts and I agree that to someone who doesn't 'know' me - that it could seem that I'm anti-R&R.

The opposite is true - I believe in it - I do it - 'each to their own' is my firm belief.

I just appreciate the heads-up on the mis-price forum that I try my best to give you Dudes helpful advice - even if it's not what you want to hear...

I'm risking blowing my own trumpet but I've - in pure mis-prices - given you in the past........24 Season 4 on DVD.........DVDs that were brand new in the charts such as Batman Begins...........same for CDs such as Shayne Ward........I could go on.

And I like to think that I've helped many Dudes with R&R tactics and so on.

Hey ho - I'm here for the duration :o
