Tesco misprice discussion area part 12

Just a thought, we could all stand together and report Mr T to Trading Standards for every single misprice they have in store without doing the R & Rs and risking getting banned!! Now that would make me smile and I'd be prepared to go in Tesco and take notes LOL. Tescos cannot be allowed to get away with conning the consumer.
Can you imagine what would happen if we all complained week in, week out to Trading Standards! They'd be inundated and Mr T wouldn't have a leg to stand on.0 -
Hey_Dude wrote:Hi,
First - you might want to edit your post and remove names - I think MSE doesn't like us to name names - if you see what I mean?
Whilst I have every sympathy - was it worth it for a bit of chicken?
Think about your profile - at least a couple of CS staff will remember you now - is it your local store? - if so, future R&Rs may be difficult....
Sometimes - you have to take a hit on the chin - even though you are in the right - because R&R is a long haul.
Good luck,
Duder
There was something long the lines of 'principles' going through my head at the time and the fact there was a little blue sign with those famous words on it staring me in the face. What am I supposed to do, let me local Tesco overcharge me because I don't want to raise my profile? I don't think so. After all the CS assistant was the one making an a@se of herself not me. And as for RnR being a long haul, it really shouldn't be seen like that because of their very own policy wording. Even more so when the CS staff do their very best to wiggle out of doing a honest refund.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

Without the R&R i wouldn't set foot in Tesco
Asda is miles cheaper0 -
Just had a failed R*R attempt.
Spotted an expired SEL on 2 for £7 smirnoff ice, went through till high then the discount came off so 2 for £7 it is, ah well, just have to drink them.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
Hey nobody said you can't R and R, but what I'm proposing is if we all made a stand then Mr T would look really foolish and they'd have to either stand by their policy or get rid of it. At the moment people are getting banned despite the fact it clearly states that people can get to refund and retain if over charged.0

brindles01 wrote::mad:   I have just had a vile experience with CS at my local store. They are used to seeing me there 'querying' overcharges on my receipt. but today I thought their attitude in dealing with my misprice took the p@**. I have just got off the phone to CS - HO to complain about them I was so livid. I had 2 misprices today. one an accident (by till operator on bakery stuff) and a definate misprice that I knew would occur!
At the CS desk the bread was dealt with OK, but the other one was a right bloody pantomime. Fresh chicken breasts in red wine sauce -SEL £2.58, pack £2.74, charged £2.74. CS came back with SEL and said I had made a mistake and picked up the wrong pack because the weight on the SEL was 380g and the weight on the pack was 382g!!! I said words like you ARE having a laugh - aren't you? - but no he was deadly serious. I asked to speak to a manager to query the 2g discretion. Manager passed buck to the meat manager to sort out. Off goes meat manager chased by the CS assistant. IT is now 20 mins since they started to deal with this so I asked another CS assistant to check where the hell they had got to, to which she replied, in what can only be described as her best impersonation of a prison warden/stroppy cow mode, loud as you like, "I AM DEALING WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT.". I was so shocked by her attitude that I told her so and said I wasn't impressed if that was supposed to be customer service and I told her I WOULD ring CS HO to complain about her. So then she starts having a little snipe with another colleague about a very sharp knife or a long rope, which they both joked about, but obviously it was because I had chosen to have a go she thought she might top herself or something because the job was so bad. Anyway CS comes back from being away (forever) with meat manager and said "on this occasion we can only offer you the difference because it IS a different product" Again I said piffle and asked to see the right product for the SEL, to which I was told they were out of stock, so I said why are you misleading customers then by putting the stock I purchased in front of that SEL. I even said it seemed like they were giving me the money out of the own pockets for the fuss they were making! To which he said "I only work for Tesco" to which I said "Well why don't you just honour the Tesco policy instead of making such a fuss". He then proceeded the give me a full refund without another word being spoken. And I didn't say thanks. Sorry if this has gone on for a long time. CS HO have logged my complaint and a report will go the Store Manager and if there is enough complaints against the store some kind of action is taken in their yearly appraisals - I don't know if this was more Tesco guff or what. But I am still fuming and right now feel like I would have put that long rope around Chris's neck myself.!!!!!
Possibly not pertaining to your situation but my letter from Sir Terry states that "Overcharging is defined as charging the customer more than is indicated on the SEL (Shelf Edge Label). POS (Point of Sale) or on the product itself. It does not include minor errors of size description on the SEL or POS, i.e where the price indicated is actually the price charged but a mistake has been made in the weight or measure indication. In this case the customer is entitled to a normal refund of the price paid but cannot keep the item."
I wanted to put the whole letter on here but I scanned it and saved it as a J.peg and put into a word doc but when I tried to paste it on here only my own added text was copied across? How do you do it? I have not got any OCR software. Can someone PM me Please.
brindles01 - I hope you get an apology & an R&R good luck0 -
Sorry I can't help you Cotsvale but I'd be really interested to see the whole letter. Another brainwave, why don't we all post the same letter or even a petition to Sir Terry Tesco?0

Do you think we can do anything about these letters from tesco headoffice or do we have to accept that we can't go shopping in Tesco's unless we get the managers permission?!:rolleyes:0
-
Just got a couple of boxes of Becks Vier - thanks to Plushchris
How on earth did you spot that one - it's on a white SEL with no end date! Just a lucky buy or do you scan everything in sight? :rotfl:0
