Tesco misprice discussion area part 12

I worked on a Tesco Customer Service desk until recently and, although I followed the misprice thread, didn't actually go looking for them (it didn't feel right as an employee). To be perfectly honest I thought there was a certain degree of paranoia what with tales of being followed, SEL's changed, only being offered the difference etc, etc. UNTIL TODAY!!
I picked up the New Driver Kit (as listed on the Misprices thread) - sure enough box said £7.94 and SEL said £7.97. Assistant at CS asked another woman to go and check (there was a queue) only for her to come back with the SEL stating £7.97. I pointed out it was on the box itself but she said "there's nothing written on the box"! At this I said I'd show the original CSA the box myself. We got to the aisle and sure enough the front of the box was blank.....consternation.......THE BOX HAD BEEN TURNED ROUND and the price of £7.94 was now facing the back!!!!!!!
I still got my R&R because the CSA who came with me seemed totally shocked that this had happened at all! Still can't believe it!!0 -
Thanks Cotsvale. Yes I did get my refund, bloody cheek of 'em. It makes me determined even more so to highlight pricing errors, even if it does 'raise my profile' (Hey Dude). There is one CS assistant in my local who is an absolute darling and I would give her a gold star for her attitude and manners, but the others, a proper kick up the a@se, and told they do not represent my company with an attitude like theirs.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

It is amazing how many people post here. After number 11 was closed because of it grew to big. It shows you how many people love Tescos and makes money out of the R&R. lol0

Spotted an expired SEL on 2 for £7 smirnoff ice, went through till high then the discount came off so 2 for £7 it is, ah well, just have to drink them.
It just shows you that this thread is too clogged up with stuff nothing to do with misprices.
I already posted that this was a non starter for an R&R:

Hey Brindles - let's be cool - remember that I've always said 'Each to their own' - I was simply commenting and trying to offer some perspective.
The point I was trying to make - and I acknowledge that not everyone agrees - is that greed does not = a low profile and greed does not = being in the R&R game for the long run.
At the end of the day we all shop outside of the spirit of Tesco's 'Our Promise'.
We all R&R in a pre-meditated fashion - whilst I totally agree that CS staff who behave badly do their employer a mis-service - I can see their point of view when they know they are dealing with a repeat R&Rer.
The point that I feel that you miss is this - what seems reasonable from a Tesco CS point of view?
Now if you want to R&R a trolly load of gear - that's up to you and good luck - but why so surprised when your actions lead to a possible ban?
I agree that you haven't done anything 'wrong' - but you seem to have upset the CS staff with multiple R&Rs.
If the 'blitz' approach is your way - then fine - but you'll find it hard to stay in the race.
My advice - take it or leave it - is to go low for a while and when you come back do so in a low-key manner.

If it were me, I'd use Tesco online for my shopping, using as many extra points vouchers as I could on a minimum spend, cash for specific R&Rs (that you go in specially for), and then a few times a day, week, month whatever your preference go and wave the letter about to make a nuisance of yourself
But then it's a hobby of mine to make a nuisance of myself so maybe just do the first two.
Or shop in Sainsburys and go to Tesco for "special occasions"
Then again you might ask the first manager and he/ she says "no problem" - we already know a fair few employees have no problem ignoring Head Office0 -

How on earth did you spot that one - it's on a white SEL with no end date! Just a lucky buy or do you scan everything in sight? :rotfl:
No probs man, nice beer too isnt it?
Free beer always tastes better (even fosters)
All the stores round here had yellow SELs with an offer that ended 10/10 so cant explain how your one was a white SEL.
I'm enjoying a few cans nowMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Hey_Dude wrote:Hi,
First - you might want to edit your post and remove names - I think MSE doesn't like us to name names - if you see what I mean?
Whilst I have every sympathy - was it worth it for a bit of chicken?
Think about your profile - at least a couple of CS staff will remember you now - is it your local store? - if so, future R&Rs may be difficult....
Sometimes - you have to take a hit on the chin - even though you are in the right - because R&R is a long haul.
Good luck,
Duder
I understand what you're saying, but your attitude just makes it that little bit harder for next customer who has been overcharged, CS staff will adopt the attitude that they don't have to abide to their own policy.0 -
Wow, there seems to be a severe bout of Dude dissing on here today.
I hope you are all still enjoying your PSP's that he prompted you to go forth and r&r.
The Dude tries to speak common sense and has been here longer than most, maybe that's because he believes in moderation, takes a chill pill before getting to the CS desk or is just naturally so laid back he's horizontal.
But most of what the Dude says makes perfect sense. Moderation. Battle vs. War. Attitude.
So I, for one, say The Dude is cool, even if his knickers are made of yoghurt(whatever that means.)0
