Tesco misprice discussion area part 12

Monster Deals, You have it wrong. If it was ever found out that tesco or any other company purposefully set out to overcharge customers the sh*t would hit the fan not withing tesco but trading standards.
The problem is the way Tesco go about their pricing Asda seems to use a different system prices differ between stores the Horwich Asda is more expensive than the Burnden Park or Farnworth Asda's due to the area they are in. Tesco have a set price country wide so if there is a mistake it affects every store. The reason tesco operate like this is to save time and money doing everything once at HO rather than once in each store.
Everything that doesn't work is user error, normally the operator's that are responsible for entering the prices in to the system or the people coming up with the offers and not telling the guys making the system changes.
I think the posters and SEL's are automatically either sent to stores in the case of posters and the SEL's are automatically printed. It is then the job of the store to distribute the new SEL's and put them on the shelves. all the pricing is done at HO.
Price integrity then go round and check the SEL's that the barcodes on them scan at the same price as it shows. Unfortunately they should check the products as well as the SEL's.gunton10 wrote:quick question how many of one product can you purchase and get R+R on? is it 2 at the most or more? cheers
You have to think about the type of item your buying would it be normall to buy 10 32" Sont LCD TV's? no most would only buy 1 same with games 1 maybe 2 coppies of a game. tins of beans should they crop up my mum buys them 6 at a time so that is sort of normal I think.
Earlier someone posted that the officailword from head office is that Tesco bulk buy policy is 10 items so 10 or less thay cant moan your buying too many but some stores will try to tell you it is 2 or 6 items. If they want to enforce this rule it should be done at the checkout not at CS when your trying to get an r+r.
Do things sensibly, dont take the p1ss and be greedy it 1 store if you want more than 1 TV go to another store and try your luck again.0 -

Oi - Redfox!
Can we have a new thread now please? This one is starting to show its age
Thread 12 part 1 or Thread 14-1 would be good to avoid the 6 plus 7 number(knowing our luck, I can see a thread named after the next sequential number getting locked down inside a hundred posts. How then could we talk about Taxiphil's lapel badges? )

Stupid post, yes (as they all were). Cost Tesco thousands, I very much doubt it.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

As I said, a stupid post following on from previous stupid posts.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

To a Tesco employee.........No, it isnt
Tesco have no right(in law) to demand your name and address, but if you are giving a false one, make sure you pay cash, with no cards.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Perhaps requesting written conformation of the laws that apply from TS would be of use that could be presented to difficult managers thus circumventing HO bull, thing is at what point do they get so anoyed that they ban you from the store as they have a right to do without the need for provind a reason, hell if it came to me being banned from all tesco stores i'd be finding out if any local papers would be interested in a local supermarket banning people for knowing their rights as a consumer. I belive the only way tescos can combat this is to kill the policy and offer something like other store say double the overcharge etc.

Sorry, must have missed this reply to my question earlier.......
I think theres little chance of them pulling the policy.....each RandR prevents a possible TS enquiry.......although they may well decide to install a system which alerts them of RandRs when they happen.
A few of us have been verbally banned from stores, or had the letter saying we can't enter without permission, but they didnt have the sense to even send them recorded delivery, as a proof of receipt.............its all hot air....We arent donig anything wrong, and there's nothing they can do to the individual.
(Unless you use a Club Card.........aka Tesco Identity Card.)
It would be great to get something constructive from Consumer Direct on what to say to the manager who refuses.........because he can
I will certainly look at the site below for more guidance.

If you give your name and address when asked by cs, what are they allowed to do with this info? Can they trace it to your clubcard etc., as it was not a form with any declaration on to allow them to use it in certain ways how is it of any use to them - both times asked to write it on a scruffy piece of paper. Just thinking if they are going to link it to my clubcard anyway, might aswell get the points.
Also thought I'd be secret squirrel the other day in a store, had r&red there a fair bit recently so I jokingly said to OH I'll leave my jacket in the car then they'll never recognise me and when at cs, cs says 'I know you don't I' I thought here we go and then realised we'd worked together for a brief time years ago - jacket back on next time.:rotfl:0 -
