Tesco misprice discussion area part 12

my DH bought a phone yesterday and it rang up at the higher price, not the reduced price. He told the cashier who scanned it again. It still came up wrong so she did it by hand. Again it was the higher price so a supervisor was called and put the right price in by hand. All this when he was in a hurry.
My son, being an avid reader of this site, explained r&r but DH said he would have still done the same as r&r didn't sound fair on Tesco!
No way could we make him see that it is their policy and they make the rules.Love living in a village in the country side0 -

I don't quite see how his post was the scoop of the century. Only those who had recieved a PM could have known the detail.
Stupid post, yes (as they all were). Cost Tesco thousands, I very much doubt it.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
spa2k wrote:What comes across in your posts though taxi is that you seem to think that tesco employees sit behind a desk dreaming up ways of conning people out of their hard earned money and ways to rip people off. The fact is that it simply does not happen. There are no head office instructions to "refund the difference" as there are no store instructions to the same end. There are no head office instructions to avoid the price promise at all costs. There is no instruction from anywhere to take advantage of customers and anyone who thinks that such instructions exist and could remain hidden within such a large corporation is naive to the extreme.
I am sorry I simply don't believe you !
No management and groups of employees can be as incompetent as Tesco's appears to be with the sheer scale of mis-prices. It has got to be deliberate !!
If it was accidental we would all get roughly as many undercharges as overcharges, it would even its self out.
Why can I not remember the last time I was undercharged ? but Tesco's consistently overcharges. Tesco's must have stolen hundreds of pounds off me over the years by illegally overcharging.
I genuinely believe Tesco's makes far more money from illegally overcharging customers than it looses from R&R. I would say 50% of CS staff try and weasel their way out of R&R, they always assume that you will naturally be happy with the difference. This is no accident, of course it is HO and Store policy to try ang get away with not giving R&R, we have all heard the evasive tactics again and again.
Tesco's attitude is disgusting, it is about time that some national action was taken against Tesco for their continual failure to stop illegally ripping off customers.
You insult the majority of people on this thread by trying to claim there is no concerted attempt in Tesco stores to avoid paying out to customers that have been illegally overcharged.0 -

Because I regularly contact several other people on here by PM, not that I have to justify myself to someone who I have never met but seems to have taken a dislike to me.0 -
Where Mr T shoots him self in the foot is with all the daft little prices he uses
It used to be that an item cost £1.99 or £9.99 or £49.99
But now they cost £1.97, £9.83, £99.94
I would say a tenth of my R&R success is down do these tiny errors
like a DVD stickered £4.96 & scans £4.97 Just make it £4.99. or a gameboy game £14.94 scans £14.97 whats the point...??? £14.99
Last month I got a white cube like Philips CD system, £49.99/£39.99 scan/sel
Now it's up at £49.93 (scans £49.93) just what was the point of that 6p reduction. VAT or some other tax reason...?
Thanks Mr T. just broke the £1000 barrier today
Keep up the bad work :j0 -

Undercharges do happen, I've had plenty of times where items of clothing come through the tills and have been reduced but its not been marked as such, therefore undercharge.
But the cynic in me would say that its because you actively look for overcharges, but not undercharges.Titch0 -
Little_John wrote:Why would you buy somthing you dont need? Even if its free only buy stuff you will make use of it is wastefull if you dont.
To sell it, or to take it back to another store for a Golden R+R (a second refund) if they don't mark your receipt.
Then it becomes hard cash, which is something we all need.0 -
quick question how many of one product can you purchase and get R+R on? is it 2 at the most or more? cheersQuidcoPaid;£989.08
Total Earnt:£1061.590
