i just got back from my local tesco.. and got a free benq siemen fone!!!!

paid for my fone in CS, asked them about warantee, everything and left tesco. as approaching back to my car, i REALISED i was mispriced so i went back to the store. (half shaking cuz i was reaaaly scared...)

told the CS i got overcharged, she checked with other colleague and rang up the manager. after their conversation, she told me i just got myself a freee fone...

i was shocked.... and i still am. they didnt offer me the difference but a full refund straight away. obvs i 'pretend' i didnt know about their policy and the CS explained it out to me. and that the fone is still under the same warantee everything. i suppose they were very honest about their policy because its not a big store (not tesco extra), and RnR doenst happen too much often in there or something.

the CS did say she will have to check all the SEL for the phones and i do think they were aware of the problem with fone being RnR heavily in other store. her look gave it away...

aww got me all shivering and thinking what i should say if they were strong about it... thank you mr T.

thank you to the people that encouraged me to go and the ones that contribute all the information here... my first BIG rnr.... a big jump from 8 pounds to 90 pounds, ummmmmm and my bf (which didnt quite want me to go in the first place) was super impressssed.

    THANK YOUUU xxx

Is it hard to speak English??

Anyway some of the digital camera and electronic offers i.e. Hard Drives etc finish today so get down early.

Can I suggest you maybe learn to post properly. No offence but I'm sure I'm not alone in finding the kind of "TXT SPEEK (sic)" annoying.

This out of date SEL excuse is, frankly, pathetic and tells me that the R&R policy (which I am more and more convinced they HAVE to do, btw, but I recently asked our 2 normally very helpful Tesco employees on here to confirm or deny my belief and not a sausage was heard on it) is clearly becoming a bit of a thorn in Tesco's side.

Try to only comment on posts that I have some knowledge on. All I can offer on that point is the same as every one else here - speculation.

Personally, I find posts with incorrect capital letter usage and adding nothing to the discussion far more annoying  ;)

  • Had little lesson off Mr T tonight..
I had 2 games overpriced and a book in one store..Ladies comes over to CS desk and says her name and says " i'm from the legal department!" I started thinking.."!!!! this is it..ive had it..cart me off!" Then she starts to appologise about the problems and she has been on a course over the weekend about whats they are planning to do about stopping the overprices.
    Heres goes..

Theres a new system being tested and installed and when one person gets overpriced it will be logged on this "new" system so the next time someone buys this item the cashier will be flagged to check the label on the item and then amend if need be. I have seen this on the self scanning.. it pops a question up saying "is the price correct?" She then says some of the items are labelled in India and by the time they are delivered the prices have changed.

After explaining all that she gave me a refund and tucked the items under her arm.. "Excuse me but what you doing with them now then?" I ask.
"Well i'm going to take them to the shelf where you got them and check all the other copies and remove all the labels!" " But they are mine" She now knows i know about the policy and says " oh sorry about that i thought you wouldnt mind me using them for a little while to check all the other stock!" She obviously tried to pull a fast one."Ok then i'll write them down instead and you can get away quicker" little red in the face she was then! hehe

Mobile fones are still out there as picked one up in another store..could have picked two of the same fone up but thought they'd argue it but they were nice as pie in there..oh well!!

Good luck fellow raiders..may overpricing be with you!

I wonder what charities and campaign groups for elderly and partially sighted (e.g. Age Concern) will make of the fact that Tesco think it's the customer's responsibility to check the tiny little date on every SEL before buying the item?

Ironic really, as I seem to recall Tesco had the Age Concern logo plastered all over their carrier bags as Charity Of The Year a couple of years back... I think I've still got one in the garage. Their new stance on customers having to read the SEL date is hardly OAP-friendly.

I said something similar to a 'senior' member of CS during my fight about an expired SEL they responded by saying they couldnt be expected to cater for all customers all the time!

  • How about this peeps!!!! Not and R&R but fab nonetheless

Current offer is Diet Coke BOGOF @ 1.36 per bottle = 1.36 discount taken off
Diet Coke reduced to 50p per bottle = 2 bottles for 1.00

Therefore for every 2 bottles I bought Tesco paid me 36p. I then proceded to buy 56 bottles which paid for the rest of my shopping!!!!

    I love you Mr T...

    evening everyone
ok,ive read so many posts im bog eyed!

think i understand what to do

do you check price under item on shelf, then see if price on item is higher?
if so i go through check out(does it have to be self scan?)
after paying i check recipt(before i leave store?)
go to cs say ive been overcharged from price on shelf
what if they say oh yes ill refund the difference?

what happens if you buy something you dont need like camera and it goes through proper price? i would be out of pocket

i have never even noticed misprices and after reading on here im amazed

    please help me guys

    thankyou

    helen
