When you get an r&r on an out of date sel, don't they just tell you that the offer ended yesterday, I'm confused about this as it seems an easy one for them to get out of. Hope i've managed to explain myself there,

They cant SDP they have to honour the price displayed. They try and get round it this way, but just stand your ground. It is there job to remove offers as they end not yours to look at the dates.
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Some of them will try this on, but they're wrong. It's THEIR job to check all SELs are in date, not yours. A customer can't be expected to go round the store checking that thousands of SELs aren't out of date.

Therefore you are due a full R+R on an out of date SEL.
  • Is there a post that explains how to convince CS that an expired SEL is still an R+R?
Yes please, this happened to me today. Bought a mobile for £99.99, SEL was 89.99 but they wouldn't budge, saying the offer ended yesterday (29/10/06).

They offered it to me for the offer price, which I refused, and ended up just taking a full refund, (but they kept the phone)

I still have the receipt - is there anything i can do or did i blow it ?
What should i have said ?

This seems to be a potential big get out clause for Mr T, and I notice many people are confused about this - anyone know the answers ?

Too late, we've been there already!

Was a go-er except the CS asked what we thought the price was before confirming the sale. Manager said we could have it at the lower price, but no R&R as the sale had not been made.

THEY HAVE PUT THEIR PRICE TO £800 ODD POUND NOW IN BOTH EXTRA STORES IM MK

  • Hmm I wanted to try this R and R out but how do I know what I'm looking for!?!! Is there a beginners guide to RandR'ing anywhere on here? I;ve been reading the thread for a bit so off i went to Tesco, and I saw a mobile phone with an out of date offer sticker on the SEL. The store had unplugged their price check scanner (sneaky) so I couldnt check. I thought that's I'd be in with a nice first RandR but :-O the mobile scanned at £20 LESS than the SEL- doh! Now I have to take it back tomorrow for a refund (I dont want it!)
  • Hello Everyone,

Could I just check if a under charge counts are a R&R ? The sel said £26x.xx but was charge £24x.xx does this count as a R&R because CS said it was only valid on overcharges.

Btw : I tried looking for the Tesco Policy but could find it anywhere in several stores now... Is this Tesco way of removing R&R from public view ?

    Thanks

    Nope, undercharges don't count. Sorry.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

  • Got my first R+R today. It was on the choc oranges 2 for 3quid. Thank you to whoever spotted those. I got terry tangy oranges 175g X 2. The bloke first tried giving me a pound back as it came up at 4 quid, so I soon sorted him out. Anyway my question is if a product has the SEL at a lower price than it scans through the till but it says on the SEL offer expires on a date that has passed, is it still eligable for R+R? e.g. it has a SEL of 12.99 reduced to 11.99 and it says the offer runs out on 31/10/06 and you buy it on 1/11/06 and it scans at 12.99 because the offer has expired, but the label is still up can you still claim a refund of 12.99 plus the goods.

Also if the £ per KG price differs on the SEL and the product label, but the actual price is still the same on both is it possible to claim a R+R?

    Thanks
