I used to hate supermarket shopping as well. Not any more. It's a lovely warm feeling to come out of Tesco and know that they have made a loss on you!I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

At the time of my posts, there were just rumours of the TV's. I just wanted to add a little spice to the mix before revealing. I only just managed to get the Sony in before WLFC10 -

I love the way that you are still using that old propaganda chestnut....nothing like a totally unbiased report....
Like the maths too...3% overcharge (according to a 7 year old report) = 50% profits....

Noticed some lamb steaks that were overpriced by a pound a kilo, picked up 4 packs and a few other bits like bread etc. let the OH go to CS for the R&R this time, she called me over when the CS "lady" refused the R&R having pointed out their addidtion to the policy (on an A4 sheet) stating that they operate a bulk buy policy that limits customers to one item!!
Now hang on, 1 item??? So 2 is bulk buying???
This sign also made NO mention of refunds/R&R whatsoever, just that you couldnt buy any more than one of each item!
I did ask why they have offers on bulk buys (like the 5% on wine) when that sign says you arent allowed to buy any more than 1. Also asked why its not enforced at the checkout, she then said its not a bulk buy policy in that sense, just when it comes to refunds, she said she would refund us on one but not the others.
OH said she just refund the whole lot, CS woman then said "why? did you buy four packs thinking you were going to get them free?" OH replied "No, I expected them to be the right price" then CS come out with "Why are you asking for a refund on them? you obviously didnt want them if you arent prepared to pay for them"
We pointed out that the reason we didnt want to buy them was that we would be being overcharged on them. Got the refund on all four packs, OH asked for the CS lady to sign the receipt so we have her name for a reference when we take it up with head office and she blankly refused, she wasnt wearing a name badge either.
Obviously when OH rings head office she cant say "The woman on CS desk that looked like a witch with blonde hair"
She was really rude, she obviously knew the game but the sign and her attitude really had us seething when we walked out of there!
I had the exact same problem last week at Copdock. I got her to call the Duty Manager and he TOLD her to refund me in full. PMSL  She then had a face like a smacked botty0 -

You reckon if they did the same undercover operation now (but in the UK) that the figure would be more or less than 3%?
And remind me again, what was tesco's t/o in the last 6 months?
Edit: When you can charge a punter £22.99 at the till on a product stickered at £9.97, anything is possible.
Further edit: £17.4 billion x 3% = ??*
* No matter whether its the till price or the SEL that is 'correct', any overcharge means that you are charging the customer MORE than you legally are allowed. Hence, my definition of it being profit. No?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
