Hi All
Resorthoppa are one of those companies who transport independent travellers from the airport to your holiday destination.
We used them in March 2010 to take us from Alicante to Benidorm and return, no problems and value for money.
Would we use them again - a big YES
Move on to August 2010, Alicante to Benidorm no problem.
Benidorm to Alicante BIG PROBLEM.
We had trouble contacting them to confirm return travel, time and pick up point but eventually managed to confirm everything.
(Please bear in mind we had used them before so knew our drop off and pick up points)
The pick up point we were given was normally the drop off point so I confirmed this in the conversation several times.
My wife and I turned up at the pick up 20 minutes before the due time. Throughout the time we were there we were the only couple with cases and looking touristy.
The road in question is 2 lanes in both directions quite busy but with an unobstructed view of traffic in both directions and being wary of the fact we were at the normal drop off point I was eagle eyed about coaches travelling in the opposite direction.
Well we waited the mandatory 15 minutes after the pick up time before contacting the emergency number and spoke with a very pleasant gentlemen who informed us that the coach driver had phoned in too say we were a 'no show'. I explained the above and his instructions were to get a taxi to the airport, keep the receipt and follow the complaints procedure when we got home. No problem s**t happens and we still made our flight.
Next day looked at the Resorthoppa website, complaints must be in writing and received within 28 days, they would investigate and contact you back within 28 days. This happened on the 20/8/10.
The only way to contact them was by email no address given. My first email laid out the circumstances and requested a refund of my taxi fare.
We have had no acknowledgement or reply of this email, neither did it bounce back. I followed this up with 3 more emails to which I have received no replies.
I then tried phoning, their phone procedure is very complicated and to try and talk to someone is nearly impossible. I ended up on a queue which cost me a far amount and which I had to terminate in order to get on with some work.
I then found 2 addresses within their terms and conditions both of which I wrote to with my complaint and requesting an acknowledgement. To date I have heard nothing.
Would I use them again a bigger NO
Anyone having any useful advice as to make next step please let me know.
Thank you

There is a notice on their website that they are an"ABTA travel industry partner". I suggest that you contact ABTA and request their assistanceSomething Really Interesting0

Anyone trying to find Resorthoppa's ABTA registration this company are registered at the same address so I'm guessing they are the same people.
Don't bother searching for Resorthoppa at ABTA.

I used Resort Hoppa this summer and had a lot of trouble reconfirming my return transfer too. Turned out the number they gave me on the outward journey was no longer in use. They also ignored my emails as I thought that might be my only other way of contacting them.
Luckily I finally managed to get another number from another hotel guest. Ive used "Shuttle Direct", "A2B transfers" and "holiday Taxis", without any problem or the need to reconfirm the return pick up. They were all there as arranged on the booking.
I doubt Id use Resort Hoppa again0 -

We are sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with your transfer whilst on holiday in Alicante.
We can assure you we get hundreds of thousands safely and happily to their holiday destination and what you have encountered is a rare occurrence.
If you could let us know the dates you travelled and which airport in Alicante you arrived at along with a booking reference they will be passed onto the relevant department to help us rectify the situation.
If you have sent an email to our customer services team could you let us have details of when it was sent and to which address you sent it to.
Sorry for any inconvenience or upset that may have been caused.

Hi Mandi
Thank you for your reply.
I emailed the admin@resorthoppa.com which I got from the complaints page.
I emailed on the 21/8/10,26/8/10 and 1/9/10.
I also mailed on the 6/9/10 to your 2 business address.
Sorry just picked your post up.

I had trouble with Resorthoppa in Tenerife this year. The travel time estimate to our resort was 1/2 hour. It took them 1 1/2 hours to drop us off, a taxi does that journey in 12 minutes. Then we were just left at the top of a road with the driver just pointing down the street when I asked where the hotel was. We spent 10 minutes walking around with luggage asking people where our hotel was. On the way back when I phoned to confirm pickup time I was told a time 5 HOURS before the plane was due to leave. Honest, have a look on a map at the distance between Los Christianos and Sofia Riena airport, it must be no more than 20 miles. We just got a cab instead, time 12 minutes. Never again! The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I had the exact same problem as Nigelld and they told me the exact same thing - to get a taxi to the airport and when I got back to file a complaint and get the taxi refunded.
I got a stupid reply from the email I sent to them where they admitted they had made a mistake but were not prepared to refund the money. I have since then emailed 2 replies and had no response from them.
Has anyone had any luck posting complaints to Lowcostholidays Ltd? Or can anyone suggest where I should go next?0 -
they admitted they had made a mistake but were not prepared to refund the money
...did they say why?0
