morning abba
Glad you had a fab holiday! I know what you mean about sniping at each other with the dd situation. Me and ds1 do it a lot, he always feels like he gets no attention because of the two little ones, and he is probably right! So when he is home we watch a film/ play game each night once the kids are settled, and it seems to put him in a much better mood when he's had one on one time
Well done on not over spending too! I need to take some tips! got lots of spendy days and holidays coming up lol!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Glad to see your back and that you managed to enjoy your holiday without going over your budget. Sounds like you have had a great time.
Being a single parent can be hard work especially when you have to be both Mum and Dad. I know I did it for 12 years, I think the worst time for me was when it had been a particularly hectic week and the kids are playing up and your tired, the kids are tired and it seems like nothing is going right then just having someone to share the load or just give a hug and say that you are doing okay. But now I look back and they are 19.5 DD and 18 DS in a couple of days and think wow where did that time go??
I am sure that DD will be okay and some one to one time will do you both good. Cherish these moments they pass only too quickly and before long you will wake up one morning and she will be a teenager with all those raging hormones... and this will seem like a walk in the park

Took the forms in for the clothing grant and the guy also told me i was entitled to free dinners for both of them when they start school in August  which will save me a whopping £80 a month if I were to send them in with lunch money  I asked him to double check but he said because I'm on the basic wage for 16 hours a week I am enititled to it :T So I have promised the kids I will be looking into getting them swimming lessons again, DD can swim but I want her more confident in the water iykwim
Went and visited my gran after not seeing her for a week and she loved her wee fridge magnet the kids bought her lol
did the avon deliveries tonight, not bad only one customer wasn't in but left a not saying we would pop in tomorrow afternoon berfore I go to work
ah work lol I think i'm being punished for having a holiday lol I'm working 3 night shifts and 1 morning shift this week oh well extra pennies again this month lol more money to put into Capital one, thinking of taking another week off when kids are with there daddy and go visit a friend up north for a couple of days where i used to live......i miss it up there so peaceful x x x
couch payment went out today bye bye another £55 this isn't due to finish until Jan 2013 but as it's interest free it will be the last thing to pay off lolNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -

Hi Abba
Glad to hear that you all had a lovely holiday. Great news about the free school dinners, saves making pack ups every day - its my daily bugbear.
Hope you got things sorted out with DD, my DS is 10 and we're having similar issues, its "that" age. I think they're just realising that they're growing up and like to assert themselves abit more!0 -
morning everyone
I haven't been on this diary for 5 days  shocking lmao x
DD's birthday party was a success :j until we had a massive downpour of rain and it start coming through the light fitting in the bowling alley but thankfully we were ready to leave lol :rotfl:
checked the bank statement and it's looking ok I have £100 to last me til the 28th in my bank but little bro still owes me dig money for this week and i get another payment off him next week for that's another £50 so this weeks money will go towards topping up the gas and electricity and any food top ups i need. fridge and freezer still full so don't think i need to do a weekly shop this week, just need milk i think and a bottle of juice and we're sorted
having a clearout day today, already done DD room except her clothes so will be tackling that today then it will be sorting through DS's room then any other room that needs doing as we're doing a car boot sale on Saturday (our very first) so hopefully we get rid of stuff as i need to clear spaces for storing xmas pressies lol
today will be a lsd going to get paper and 3 breakfast rools filled with the kids choices as the wee shop near here does them for less than £1 so a little treat for the kids on this miserable wet day lolNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
well i now have £71 in my bank and £7 in my purse to last me 8 days........its doable lol
Bought DD a new duvet as the one shes got keeps sliding inside her duvet cover so come the morning shes hugging the duvet cover but the devet it at the bottom of it lol so just got a tesco value one for £6 so if that doesn't work i'll just double it up with the other duvet that'll keep her snug and warm lol
also spent £3 in tesco on juice, milk and fruit so thats all lol
gutted the rooms out and a bout a quarter of my room is covered in stuff we no longer use, i've binned the ruined stuff so i will be happy if I get rid of half of it lol so doing a carboot sale on saturday morning which starts at 8am so not too bad lol
just collected the last of my avon orders have over £200 in orders which is fab considering we've only managed to put the books out last thursday night lolNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
hey abba :j
the comment about the light fitting leaking made me laugh:rotfl:we were lucky and DD had a beautiful day with sunshine....it rained the day before and the day after and her birthday was lovely !? so i ended up overspending on BBQ stuff and inviting friends over (as well as paying for soft play in the day lol) but oh well only once a year we do it for them
Your avon orders are fab! if i thought i would make that much i would do it again for sure
You're right about the de-clutter lmao must be something in the air us both doing it on same dayonly you started at the top and i started downstairs lol
are you planning on doing much with the kids over the summer? My ds1 luckily has moaned much yet but we've hardly any money to do much so hoping he doesn't start soon

we'll be visiting friends in glasgow, plenty of visits to park, Abbie has dance school for a week at the start of august which was free and its 10am til 3pm monday til friday
theres a big park thing going on here on the 3rd so hopefully i'll take Xander to that kills some time for me and him whilst abbie is at dance school. Also we are going to see Cars 2 and maybe Harry Potter.
Plus we're taking my gran out for her dinner this month at Brewsters as i collected the vouchers in the Sun, feed a family of 4 for £15 when it would usually cost about £40 so defo going there might go next week as it has a big play area attached to it too xNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
