Why do people think it's necessary to have a big wedding when they cannot afford it?

Let her get on with it. I think over the top, expensive weddings are tacky- and to me- gives a message that youve forgotten what the day is about.

Just look at Jordan & Peter Andres wedding. All that faff and money and she divorced him after 5 minutes. ... then you look at people like my grandparents who had a long, happy successful marriage on a cheap wedding and their honeymoon was a day at Dudley Zoo.


Just feel smug that you know better!:p
