Just to let people know, these printers are cheap, but the ink for them isnt.

They come with a set, but after that you need to buy them from dell. And they dont come cheap!

There also isnt any 3rd party ink cartridges for them either.

Err....I know someone who's been refilling their 924 with the lexmark ink which lidl (or maybe aldi) sell, plus; if I'm not mistaken you can use lexmark patten cartridges in them as well.

As far as the 725 is concerned, when they arrive free with a Dell pc, I suggest people throw them in the bin when the cartridge is done.

Takes only 1 cartridge, from which it prints all colours.

Unless you have a thing for refilling, not worth the bother.

If I'm not scathing enough, please excuse me.

Never had much look with refilling cartridges myself. Personally I'd pay a little more & go with an epson, compatable carts are very cheap. Buy an epson, only use compatable cartridges & put the original cartridges supplied with the printer on ebay & the printer price is around the price of the dell ones. The cartridges that come with a dell printer are usually demo cartridges & have only got a small amount of ink in.

It's actually cheaper to buy the printers than to buy the ink separetely. See, if you choose the 2 for 27quid option, it will work out to be 13.5quid for each printer (including ink). The ink (colour) on its own costs 15quid (2 quid more expensive).

So the way I see it...is that buying 2 of these printers is like buying two ink cartridges, really. You can chuck them away after using them. (I hope I'm not wrong about the ink part? Surely these printers come with ink when purchase?)

I'm buying the Dell 924 , which is 2 for 45quid. Works out to be 22.5quid per printer.... After using up the ink, I might just keep it for the scanner.

The inks that come with them are smaller cartridges than the ones you can buy direct. You never ever ever get a 'full' cartridge with a printer.
