  • It was council, that was the question they asked me. Apparently they are much harder to contest but still got some great advice on how to avoid in the future.

You probably could have got the same opinions on here for free, but glad you're happy with how it panned out.

Oh dear, IMHO that's terrible that you had to pay £10 and then paid the PCN anyway. Hope you didn't just accept the first rejection letter because the advice site should have told you that everyone gets a rejection at first, which almost never means you have no case...

Almost everyone who posts on pepipoo forums wins their appeal in the end, and is supported with free advice through all the stages. Bet you could have paid nothing. Next time you'll know!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi

I want to park in a bay which has charges Monday to Friday from 9am til 6.30pm and has a 4 hour maximum stay. I want to park there on a Saturday so i know that I do not have to pay, but can I park there for longer than 4 hours?

You need to start your own thread and tell us if this is a Council parking bay. Ideally take a photo of the sign or get a Google Street View on street link.

Newbies can't post full links so you will need to put broken links to your photo or GSV link, by removing the http: from the front. We can then convert it back to a clicky link.

This Park Right thread is so rambling it's useless, IMHO, and not the place to post new questions as every case is different. One click takes you to the current parking forum threads, see my signature for where to click. Get to the forum and click the blue 'new thread' button top left of ther thread index.

  • I have received a penalty charge for allegedly dropping someone off on a zigzag line. However, my front tyres stopped short of the start of the zigzag. Is there any case law which says which part of a vehicle needs to be over the zigzag? I thought it was measured from the tyres - it's certainly what I check when I am parking in a normal parking space.

    Oops, wrong thread
  • Anyone know if I can take this further? I was ticketed on 21/04/13 based on camera evidence for not loading/unloading in a loading bay. As a market trader I have to unload, set-up and secure my stuff before moving the car. On camera I was not continuously umloading for 7 minutes of the 20 allowed. I appealed on grounds of being a market trader with no other unloading area to use and the need to secure my goods before moving the car but not on the timing grounds. The appeal was rejected. I forgot to take action and now I just got a letter asking for triple (£195)!

You don't seem to explain how you avoided it, with reference to the guide? Which is the purpose of this thread.
