Thanks, will give them a call then.

Just a thought - I presume both legs of the trip have to be used before the 31st March? ie I can't travel out on 20th March and return on 4th April?
    T&C's
Award travel must be completed by 31 March 2007 to be eligible for the reduced mileage award to North America, Mexico or the Caribbean for 20,000 miles.

So No to your last sentence.
  • Hi, I would love to get a free/very cheap return flight to Miami (on Virgin and I am already in their flyer programme if that's of any use in this) using this cards offer. Is this possible? As I understand it 50,000 miles would be needed for a return flight from the UK to Miami and you get 20,000 miles when suceeding in applying for the card and spending on it. Is there a way I could get all the miles with minimal cost? Please help.

    Many thanks for any replies.
  • It all seems to have gone very quiet on the AA Citicard promotion. Does these that you guys have sorted out the missing airmiles and have located the elusive weblink for the reduced mileage?

Blindman and noodles, what's the news?

    Funny you should mention that.

I've had several conversations with the CS reps in India- they are useless.
Bottom line is they just escalate ( if you're lucky) the complaint to 'another dept' and then wash their hands of it.

I rang the 0800 number to lodge a complaint - it gets through to their HQ in UK- and received a letter to say they're looking into it. They've missed their time limit of a 5 day response so I'm not holding my breath:rolleyes:

I also got my wife to ring the complaints dept to lodge her grievance-she'd been getting limited responses to her emails to Citiw***

Today I've checked both our accounts and Hey presto a
CITIBANK ENROLLMENT BONUS or 10,000 miles
has appeared with a posted date of 30th November in both accounts
So both my wife and I have received the 20,000 bonus:D

Supposedly Natasha of the Indian CS will ring me to tell me (her promise :rotfl:) and I may try to get some more miles in compensation.

However my plan is to cancel this card a.s.a.p so I can then reapply in about 3 months time and get their usual 5,000 miles bonus.

(There's no problem in getting the usual 5K bonus, it appears almost immediately one gets the card and there is no spend requirement)

Now as for the elusive link to the 20K miles offer:eek:

As I'm not going to do this I probably will not chase it up, I'll leave that to Noodles

This morning, following a call to the UK 0800 call centre on Tuesday, I checked my AAdvantage miles balance and saw the following had been credited:

    11/30/06 CITIBANK ENROLLMENT BONUS 0 10,000 10,000

This brings my total miles creditedto 20,000. Yay!

Many thanks to all those who have posted helpful comments in this thread. Thank you also to MONEYSAVER who first started this thread! :)

Looks like everyone is getting the miles today regardless.

Also it seems you have to ring AA to get the 20K miles deal.
Post 180 here tells you how to avoid the £15.00 booking fee
  • I did end up ringing to book the flights and paid the additional £15 (the AA guy said I couldn't book online although I have now seen the other link which shows you how to do this) - still they only charged me £57 for the return flight to Raleigh so I can't really complain :T . Just wish there hadn't been so much hassle getting the miles. Seem to have got a few more posted in the last couple of days like other people too!

Looking forward to getting away from this miserable weather and seeing some sunshine in the US.

    Good luck to everyone else

    Another 10K???
  • Hi,

This is my first post. So, please be gentle!!

Seeing this offer on MSE I also took an AAdvantage card and made all my Christmas shopping on it, which made it more than £1,000 before 31st of Dec. Today, I have received my credit card statement from Citibank which shows only 1,120 AA miles. When I called them they said, they will show only the miles earned for the current statement period. Is that true? When I look at AA web site it shows about 5,400 miles which, I believe, is the 5,000 bonus points for joining and my previous spending. Now I have few questions.

    1. How long it takes to credit my 15,000 bonus points, and Why it is not shown on the statement?

    2. When I look at AA web site for a flight to New York (JFK), it shows 40,000 miles. Looking at this site I understand there is an offer for 20,000 miles. Is there a direct link to that available? If yes, could somebody post it please?

    Many Thanks,

Take a little time and read the entire thread as the answers are here.

Basically did you qualify for the 20,000 Citibank promotion by getting and activating the card during the promo period?
