Fingers crossed you get the money DDFW. With regards to the work phone number - I've always just put in my mobile number, if they queried it, I'd just say I can't take personal calls at work. It's never been a problem before and no one has queried it.

I wouldn't be doing overtime if it was going to be that little extra either. I don't blame you. I'd rather be trying to raise some extra cash some other way.

I always try and do stuff before work rather than on my lunchbreak - that's not unprofessional, it's just good time management!

    Have a good day!

  • Hi all :)

jwil - once again thank you so much for your considered, sensible advice and input :)

well, i may be back on that long path of watching the pennies people :D - this is a good thing after falling into despondency about the debt a bit :o

Today, at lunch time i took myself off to the shops for a 'treat' a food treat that is, thinking to myself that my sandwiches are bland - plain cheese on a piece of bread anyone ? - lovely but after x no. of days in x no. of weeks in a row i'd like a change :o and i also thought i *should* be able to treat myself to a tasty hot tea too rather than the 30p fare i often have :o So i picked up supper (just over £1) put this back but picked something else up for £1.50 :eek::eek: and a couple of other meals which were £2.50 each to be stashed away :eek::eek: Put all these back but decided a nice cake is *always* needed but saw this was £3 and didn't spend anything :T:T:T I must say though that all those meals looked mightily tasty :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but i'm going to have a simple beans on toast supper - and am ravenous (had no lunch) so will do this now :D

Woohoo! :j i'm getting tantalizingly close to finishing the declutter / deep clean of the room i'm working on right now :) - still quite a bit to go mind - about 5 areas to work on but at last i can see the end is in sight :j

I must sound so very dull getting excited over cleaning up and decluttering :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but it *feels* so much nicer walking into a room that is both clean and hasn't got stuff piled up everywhere :o and when something needs to be used - or put away afterwards then its so easy to do because everything is in place and in the *right* place! This then obviously has the knock on effect that when i want to do something then i'm not put off doing it because of the hassle of shifting everything else out of the way first :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: So everything else is becoming more productive and free-flowing :)

  • Well today sees me getting up the first real frosty day of the year - brr! can feel a real chill in the air now - so maybe this means i can wrap up in my gorgeous woolly scarf and hat :j:j:j

Plans for today are scaling pot mountain and then waiting around for the electricity fixing person to come out and try and make my lights work again - i mean should everything be this hard all the time? :o Of course, this will cost some money :( and i'm hoping he'll come and go and still leave me enough time to get to the bank :o I went yesterday but apparently needed all different sorts of identification to access the funds not just my bank card  - so i'm still unsure if i can get my hands on the cash - if i can i'm just going to transfer the lot :eek::eek: - my thinking is - i don't know how much the cost will be for a new boiler as i've not had any quotes as yet so want to make sure i've enough to cover it and i can just transfer any excess back across ;)

I also want to make some more progress with the mahoosive list i set myself for the weekend :D - some nice things on there and some practical and all things that are to prompt me to do the things i enjoy or to help me live the sort of life i want to :)

(obviously the bit missing from this explanation is .... so thats why i just dumped it on the chair instead which then resulted in that needing a thorough clean afterwards - and i've still not managed to get the muck out ) so you can see - its a bit of an uphill battle at times :o
My DH doesn't really *get* the decluttering either - though he is making a little bit of an effort.

There is nothing like being able to access something without having to shift a load of stuff first - and that is why I am not as productive as I could be because of that problem.

I think you've done brilliantly, and you should be excited about it - it really does make a difference after all!

Frost  I just put a short sleeved top on this morning, and wondered if it would be too cold, but after walking the dog, have decided it is fine!

Good luck with the electrician and bank visit - hope they let you have it.

  • Having attempted the ascent of pot mountain and reached a suitable level i have set up camp and will continue the journey after some rest and rations :D

So first things first - or obviously not considering i've got up had me a cuppa :coffee: done a load of pot washing, cleaned down the sides that i can in the kitchen and been on here for a catch up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: i'm going to shower and then have breakfast - left over beans from last night on toast :money:

After pots part deux i might make tea - very early in the day i know but its going to take me about an hour and as i've got electric person coming round and i'm hoping to get to the bank and pop out to a friends later i've not much time and would prefer to eat at a reasonable hour ;)

Done 1 x free bingo and been screened out of 1 survey - rightio showertime! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Is it time for another cuppa yet? :coffee: :D

Thought i'd pop back on here and see what else i needed to do whilst waiting of the leccy man coming :)

I've nearly done all the pots now - just 1 more lot to go :T:T:T
i've put the rubbish out :)
    re-housed a bag of stuff :)
had my shower and washed my hair - am now damp but clean :)
    washing done... :)
    and currently drying :)

Can't really start cooking as i won't hear the door - no bell which is something else that needs to go on my list - plus i don't want to be in the middle of things and have to leave it.

Might start on another of the things on my weekend list  although i really want to go and get back in bed - i'm so tired all of a sudden :p

  • Oops - didn't get started on anything else - but the washing has dried and been moved  and tea is simmering away as i type :T Got my refund through from the complaint i made the other day - but its in the form of a voucher - might save it for future use ;)

In other exciting news i've signed myself up to do a run for charity - eek! Was hoping to start training this week - got myself a little planner all printed out :T but after pulling muscle in my leg last week its still not right and i know its better to let things heal properly before embarking on exercise that could potentially make things worse  i have got a walk planned for tomorrow - not part of my training - just a pleasant potter so i guess i can see how i manage with that ;)

Hmm... better crack on with things i suppose - still very tired but have done lots already today so i am pleased with that :) anything extra i do now will save me time over the weekend :D Wish i didn't have to pop out later as its going to take a big chunk of time out of my day :( driving in rush hour traffic

Sounds like you had a busy day!

Good luck with the charity run, that's a great motivator for training!
