The good thing at the moment is, having attempted the ultimate declutter several times over, i'm now at the stage where i know what is being kept is essential / useful /loved - this really does feel like the final declutter for a

This really does sound like a "good" place to be. It takes time, and several attempts but it really does pay dividends!

As for borrowing to spend on the boiler - all I can say is that I am in awe of the fact you have waited so long! If it were me, it would have been booked in within a couple of days.....:o

I'm with hypno- I wouldn't have lasted that long if there was any way possible I could not have done. Good luck with getting a 0% card.

The kitchen stuff - I don't mean fancy gadgets or anything (though they go well too) just simple kitchen equipment - pans, trays, plates etc. We've sold all sorts.

I agree it's not nice when you are faced with negativity, but it was probably right to not go out on your leg.

Hope your day has improved now!

  • Hi ddfw

Agree with you about the boiler that is hard going. You can't afford to get sick and you will if you keep getting washed in cold water. Very stressful too. Did you have any joy in finding a 0% card.

    take care

  • Hiya all - did you miss me? :p

I was absolutely exhausted on saturday - meant to post but was just *that tired* i really couldn't muster the energy :o

Then spent just about the whole of Sunday out  - had a very jolly and lovely time :T:T:T but was tired this morning - i am soo not used to going out - and i *did* spend some money on myself :o but just £20 which i think is good considering i was out the whole day - travelled to 2 different areas and had lunch and drinks  :j:j:j i'd love more days like this one - but i think i'd have to get up early to get all my free bingo and money stuff done first - but being so tired satday did spill over a bit into sunday

Not been in a hugely long time from work and have to get up very early to go back in tomorrow so will be doing my p/t shift tomorrow night - i can see already that i am going to get confused by all this :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Signed myself up to a new site so am hoping to net me a amazon voucher from there :T:T:T and am looking at another new site too :T:T:T will report back on how i get on :D

Ooh thanks again jwil for the kitchen tip but i have already decluttered all those thing a long time ago - they did sell well actually :) i have made fab progress in the kitchen - inside the cupboards at least - the rest of it is shocking though  :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - aiming to make some progress on this tomorrow - depending on the time i get in after p/t job and how awake i am ;)

And, i've not applied for the 0% card as yet - best get a wriggle on as the boiler people are coming to see me this week. In some ways i'm happy about it as it is a priority job that desperately needs doing  but in another way i am  - where the heck will i get the money from ? and i want my debt to go down and not up so can i not live with this a bit longer ??? hmm...

Ok, off to bed right now as i need to get up earlier than usual because i have the commute to tackle.

    I missed you :D

Glad you had a nice day out on Sunday, it sounds lovely!

What sites are you talking about - do tell! I need more amazon vouchers :D:D I've also meant to ask, which other free bingo are you doing? PM if you prefer.

Well done on the kitchen decluttering, sounds like it's going well.

It is a bit  about the boiler, but how much will it save you in time, stress, and hassle to free you up to debtbust! Plus presumably a bit on the bills as well.

jwil - after i've seen out these new sites go i'll PM you - unless you want me to let you know now? don't really want to refer you to something that may not be as great as i'd originally thought x

Just listed myself a little -(read as mahoosive ) plan of action for this weekend to get me moving forward with my future plans - it is almost the end of the month after all ;)

I'd be interested anyway, just so I can have a peek and see what they are. :)

  • Hi all

jwil - yep i'll PM you the info :D

i feel even though i've popped on the last few days that i am neglecting my thread but maybe on reflection i am not feeling as connected with the debt busting as i had been

So whats happened? Am i as keen to repay the debt? Yes, very much so and am soo keen to start reducing the mortgage too. Am i doing things to try and raise extra money to repay the debt as soon as possible? Yes, free bingo x 2 is done just about every day - 1 is just if i'm lucky enough to win money then that is cash off the debt :T the other i save for vouchers and this allows me to get things i need for the home or the occasional gift - so not a direct input of cash off the debt but stops me spending the money on the item. I list things on e-b*y :) and put other things to carboot ;) i do surveys when i'm not screened out of them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: i spend very little on myself and have no personal spending money whatsoever :o i take public transport instead of the car where possible as its cheaper (not to mention better for the environment - but its the money i'm focusing on just now) i also do mystery shops when i can get them. Could i do more than i am right now? Yes... and maybe this is just where the problem is  i have not managed to pick up any MS's for weeks :( i'm really missing the money now as things are just so tight :( i've also neglected surveys just due to being tired or being screened out of so many - some after getting 80% of the way through :eek::eek: Although i am having a huge clearout and re-organisation which i thought would generate things for e-b*y - there haven't been many things at all - just 1 :):( - good as i'm on the final declutter for a while but i had really wanted things that would make me money *stamps foot* :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

basically then - i feel like i'm in a rut - still plans are afoot to raise some extra cash

Hope all is well with everyone else :)

Oh yes, i went to the supermarket today and was so easy to move everything as each item belongs in a set place :T - very quick and straightforward :)

  • Hi all - a bit of a type and run post from me as have to head into town before work. Well don't *have* to but as i am trying to get my sticky mitts on some cash then i know i'll feel better having sorted that out before work rather than in my lunch hour. Oh dear! that doesn't sound very professional does it? :o

Whats happened is, i started the application for a new 0% card - which i could do balance transfers on last night  was going swimmingly until i'm required to provide them with my work details including telephone number, my position there and address.:eek::eek: Definitely did not want to give them my work number - can't have calls there any way and all calls go through to my boss so i promptly stopped the application :( And have decided instead to try and do a balance transfer from my overdraft account to allow me to get my new boiler  So, thinking its the right thing to do i rang up and they confirmed i can have access to the money :T:T:T but that they can't transfer it ??? and i should go into the branch hmm... now last time i was in the branch they said i can't have the money :wall: - so today i'm going to go in and request the transfer *fingers crossed please people* if it goes through great :T although it will incur interest :doh:and if not then i will be complaining because i wouldn't have trecked into town early in the first place :naughty: and would have asked them to reduce the limit on the account as i think it shows i've got access to the money when i've not -

This will then be the next bill i focus my energy on paying off - really hope i get it as i would hope to clear it before the end of the year and it will still mean i will be toasty and warm for winter :) and that a major job that needed doing on the house has been done :j Although i'll need to wait for new radiators - which also need replacing :o

Oooh... just had a call from work asking me if i want overtime from this weekend and into next week... this will just be paid at my normal (minimum wage) rate ... i said no .... but am now thinking about it :o I really, really need and want the money but - last time i did overtime i was out of the house for 5.5 hours due to the commute and ended up with about £15 extra in my wage after tax etc. :( it'll also mean catching the earlier train - which is double the cost of the usual ticket  so not £15 made at the end of the day for 1 shift - there has been no overtime for a long time and this week will be just a one off. maybe i need to challenge myself to do things this weekend to raise that extra cash that i would have made instead ? :o

As much as i do need the money though i really think 5.5 hours out of the house (i know its not all work time but its not all productive time either) is not worth the small difference i'd get in my wages.

Right decision made - will now rush out to catch the train and *really, really, really* hope i can get the funds transferred :o
