Wow! Well done :T :T :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Ta jwil - it seems like we both decided to do some money shuffling on the same day
i didn't mean to post and dash before but we'd only just got the comp back so i made my payment and popped my update on so i knew where i was up to and then OH *needed* the computer - where's the rolly eyes smiley when you need it ? Especially as he didn't contribute to the purchase of the comp, the software or the repair i just paid for. Oh well! So i couldn't stay on here for any longerAnd due to me having woken up with a terrible headache this morning thats only just abating now i didn't want to use my phone comp with its small screen.
So i've still a ways to go and will probably be posting several updates of things and events over this next couple of days
Priority is to carry on with the wardrobe stuff - not really done any more with it to be honest - i still have a few pants / jeans to try / sort out then its coats and long cardi's - i have 3 long cardi's and they all get worn so they are very easily sorted outand then its onto all manner of footwear and then bags *phew!* Actually just read back the 3 tops have been tried and sorted into - 1 i didn't think i'd keep but is gorgeous and will be worn for work, 1 i'm keeping can be worn for all manner of events and 1 that has been listed for sale.
What i haven't done is tried the jacket on or made a decision on itI bought it when i was slimmer - and aim to get that figure back by hook or by crook! So i think i really want to keep it even though i can't wear it right now
So i will persevere with some more sorting of things this evening - because i know how to live on a friday night ! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: And update again on this later :cool:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Wow, well done on clearing the card :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
You have done so well and are down to the last three :j:j
Thanks jwil - i was actually pleased to see the back of that one - when i've cleared debts in the past i've not felt anything other than maybe a bit flat / a bit of a slump but i was actually a little bit pleased to finally scratch that one down to zero! Partly as it seemed to be clinging on for dear life when i thought it would have been cleared way sooner
I couldn't have got so far without your support hon - the POAMYC challenge has been brilliant for me and i'm already thinking about what next years target will be so really hope you run it againCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
:j Well done on getting rid of yet another debt - your resiliance is brilliant! :j
Keep on keeping on with the rest...you'll get there before you know it!
Pickle!!! Lovely to see you again hon - i do miss your diary x
Yep, i'm really pushing myself at the mo. - especially with the loss of income from my p/t work and not picking up any MS's - i don't want to have this debt hanging on for any longer than is necessary:o
How are things with you ? Hope all is well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
So i've been pondering my frittering of money this week
I haven't come to any conclusions about it all as yet but if i pop it down then maybe i'll get some helpful suggestions or maybe it'll help me to come up with solutions going forwards
So i went to le carbooty at the weekend - i'm not sure if i should include this in my frittering spending or not really ? What do i buy from here? Well i have been buying some new clothes - some actually brand new with all the labels still in (not from a stall selling just new things) and some second hand. The clothes i've bought have allowed me to have a clearout of old stuff of my own and this has been raising some pennies for me on the bay of e this weekFrom the carboot the clothes are much cheaper than shop bought new stuff too - so savings of a fashion too
I've also bought various crafty goodness for some of the creative things i like doing - things for embroidery, knitting, beading etc. and a paper trimmer for cardmaking - all at a fraction of the cost of a shop bought price so definite savings there on stuff i'd need anyways
I've bought lotions and potions - well creams - like when people get gift sets and they don't use them - so this has saved me money on buying new from the shop too. I do just buy new and sealed with these though and only if the price is reasonable
I've bought stuff for the house and garden - ornaments - which are more unusal and plants too.
I've purchased a couple of bags - 1 which is a weekender type thing - all sealed up in its original packaging and ideal for those longed for weekend trips to the seaside *wistful sigh*
One thing i look at but haven't found any i want are books, i'd also like a container for my beads - one thats all in sections so everything is tidy
So le carbooty frittering or not is the question here really
None fritterings of this week have been:-
i bought some creams with vouchers i had, having sorted my make-up stuff i knew where my shortfall was and used the vouchers to top up - good necessary purchases
i bought a magazine for the free mascara - again needed and much cheaper than buying the mascara on its own
i stocked up on soap stuff when i got it for a great price
stocking up on jars of stuff for the storecupboard
And onto the nitty-gritty fritterings:
i treated myself to a non-essential costume jewellery purchase - there are 3 items as a set and this was reduced from £10 to £3 - lovely but not nesessary
i bought some underwear - reduced to half price in the sale £16 to £8 and i had a £3 voucher towards this - needed but it could have waited so that was £5 spentplus i didn't go shopping for this - i just went by on my way to something else
And i really wanted a really nice cake - in fact i;ve wanted to eat a really nice cake for some weeks now - i've bought some cheaper cakes but been disappointedSo i absolutely splurged on a cake that was reduced to £3 - £3 on a cake :eek::eek: i might need to lie down
OK its a whole cake and not a slice and i think that a slice could very easily cost that in a coffee shop  i will of course report back on whether it was as tasty as i had hoped
But still £3 on a cake is alot when i could have bought proper meal food with this

Rightio i'm going to make a start on the sorting out in a mo. - i'm hoping by doing this i'll generate some sellable stuff and feel like i've achieved something too. That way when i start on the pleasanter activities - reading a magazine, catching up on some blogs, and eating cake
- then i can enjoy them all the more
I've been really good with what i've already sorted out too - wearing stuff that i've not worn in a while and also checking the stuff that was in the washing before popping it back in the wardrobe - to be honest though with the things that have been washed they've been washed as i've been wearing them so pretty much quick and easy decisions.
Ok, i'll pop back in laterCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Great news that you've got your computer back, hope it's all fixed now.
You should be proud of yourself for clearing another card. I haven't made the decision yet about the challenge for next year, but I'll still definitely be around (unless I win Euromillions tonight that is)
You will definitely get back into your slim clothes!
If you want to include your car boot stuff in the fritter money then do so! I like seeing your purchases. I quite often get my smellies from a boot sale as well as it often works out cheaper. It's important to have some spending money I think as otherwise the temptation is there to go on a huge blowout. Better to allocate an amount and use it rather than just spend willy-nilly.
Hope you enjoy the cake - sometimes you just have to buy the nice things
Good luck with the sorting"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I wasn't gone long was i ?
Basically the 4 pairs of pants / jeans i had lifted out are all being kept - although at this moment they don't all fit meCurrently i'm not allowed to exercise until the damage i have done to my muscles recovers - i can't see this happening without the help of a physio but we will see what the doc says when i go back. But anyways my weight is :eek::eek: and i'll be attacking that with as much vigour as i have the debt once the debt has gone
The thing is i feel so demotivated as i know my throid is working against me on this
Still there must be a way right ?
So pants / jeans = 1 pair of jeans just too small but a bit of exercise and eating of better things that the toffees my body has constantly been craving should help that2 pairs of pants a little on the 'too tight to be comfy side' but would be daft to chuck them especially as i could drop all these lbs next week then gain them as quick the week after. Plus i love both pairs and they are for different occasions. Final pair of pants relegated to work - wear. Actually this is the one thing i could do with - trousers for work - the hairdresser managed to bleach my last decent pair and they've never been replaced. The ones i'm relegating now are just summer ones.
3 long cardi's - as i say wear them all, all very different and go with different things x
Coats - keeping them allall excellent condition, all are different to each other and as they'd maybe not sell for much and this is the wrong time of year for winter stuff i'm happy with this decision. I think i'll sell the coat i'm wearing all the time now at the end of this year though and then start wearing one of the others but we'll see nearer the time.
Footwear that is upstairs: - i have lifted out 2 pairs of shoes to sell but just going to try 1 of the pairs on again and make sure i really do want to sell them
I also need to address the footwear that isn't in the wardrobe so i have that to finish as yet
I did pop the jacket that i love back in the wardrobe
So hopefully thats a couple more bits sorted out to sell and i've got more stuff to sort out too xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
