Light dusting of snow here too.
that surprises me fred, from what i could make out of the news tonight i thought wales had got really deep snow.

for anybody thats interested, the difference between a normal curry and a biryani is that where a normal curry has the meat and spices mixed in the sauce with the rice served seperately; the meat and spices in a biryani (or pillau)are cooked into the rice, so it can be quite a dry dish if you want it that way, but it's then usually accompanied by a veg or plain curry sauce. Dont be surprised if you find a boiled egg or small omlette in with the rice as well. ok thats enough food talk or i'll be getting hungry again!

The snow has kept me indoors for most ofthe day and thats provided a good chance for me to look at reasons why the weight loss has dwindled so much recently. Many of the motivational things that began after my lightbulb moment in July have disappeared over the months (mainly due to my own laziness or complacency), so ive started them all back up again today.
I'm going to jack one job in after Christmas and use the time sticking leaflets through doors for the other job, that should provide at least the same amount of exercise, be less stressful and bring in a bit more dosh too. Long term goal - 13 stone before age 40. Short term goal - lose another stone by January 10th (according to the bmr calculator thats what i can acheive if i'm "moderately active")

although what actually is "moderately active"?
(I have been seen recently chasing after my car as it slides down the street, and also im a particularly fast eater so i wonder if either of those qualify me as moderately active? mmm i wonder?)

    That'd be normal Wales :rotfl:

We're so far west that during the second World War they had to put in their own weather station to get accurate forecasts for the flying boats to land and take off.

We still get different weather than everyone else 70 years later :)

Fell - Like the others, I have no words to express how I am feeling for you right now. Make the most of this christmas with your DD and make it one to remember for the whole family if you can.

BB- WTG girl!!!! Those smoothies are paying off! How are they working with the other stuff, are they helping?

    WTG all you losers!!!!

I haven't even thought of stepping on the scales tbh. Work has been absolutely manic to say the least. Made much worse with the weather we had a couple of weeks ago. The rest of the country are now getting what we had then. Thankfully it's missed us this time, and fingers crossed, the rest of the packets should come thru in time for xmas, So many ppl still have stuff that they are waiting for that was dispatched before the last of the white stuff. Food wise, I've been very naughty, just don't have the energy to make lunch before I leave for work in the mornings. Therefore the vending machines are my best friend atm. I did take a couple of tins of soup in for my lunch and decided to have them but tbh there hasn't even been time to stick them in the microwave for a couple of mins, we've just been too busy. Every cup of coffee my colleague has made me has gone cold cos there just isn't enough time to drink it, never mind dinging it to heat it up again. Hoping next week it will calm down, most of the backlog has been caught up with in the delivery offices, thanks to evening and sunday deliveries here. The guys have really been working hard to get it cleared. Now we face next week when the mail centres catch up and we have to do it all over again .

I will try to be better this week. Cooking a pot of soup atm, so hopefully I will make it as far as the microwave before the buzzer goes to distract me from the task in hand :rotfl:

Sorted for the time being hon. A very nice man came out around 9 last night with a blow torch and a hammer. Seems a lot of the houses round here are having the same problem. The drainage stacks are all made of cast iron, so lagging them is a waste of time :/ Will need a new kitchen floor but other than that not much damage done. Well that and my energy levels lol

Hello all, hope you're all coping with the snow somehow (a blowtorch and hammer, blimey!)

Our weekend plans were cancelled as a reuslt of the sudden downfall (no snow to 2 inches in less than an hour!!) so OH made an emergeny trip to the corner shop for milk and came back with 2 choc oranges! so we played games all weekend, sorted out the house and ate choc.

also had a curry yesterday. Biryani has always been my fave - saves buying rice seperately and the veg curry is gorgeous. Also, there's usually loads (too much for 1 sitting) and I can say it tastes 5x as nice straight out of the fridge the next day!!
hopwever, our local does a sunday night buffet so I had chicken tikka and rice with poppadums. not a great day diet-wise but we did have a really good weekend depsite all our plans being ruined!

Got bread-maker fever now - made OH a loaf of white for lunch during the week, made myself some wholewheat bagels (basically just did the bread roll recipe but i made them doughnut shaped!) and now i'm making sesame seed buns for dinner - home made (and very low fat) burgers with home made (and very low fat) chips!!

Figure i'm going to snack badly over the next week or so, so I should stick to 'healthy' meals.

have made my new year's resolution already, and it's to NOT 'diet' - I am sick of thinking about food every day and worrying about what I can and can't have. I'm just going to up my exercise (started already with workout dvd 3 times a week cos of the cold - will be gym and swim when the sun's out tho) and eat sensibly, have what I want but not loads and loads. Portion control and fresh food are the key elements I think.

Only 5 days till Xmas!!! Wooooohoooo! :snow_grin  _party_ :rudolf: :xmastree: :snow_grin
