Sorry to hear about the setback. You are doing so well and as long as you keep meeting the payments, all will work out fine. Keep going and enjoy your wife and family. Love and happiness doesn't cost money.
Do you have anything that you could sell on ebay as so many people are shopping at the moment. Kids toys they no longer require can really fetch good money at this time of year.

Good Morning all.
Been a little light on posts recently due to being exceptionally busy at work, still, lots of work means no time for play, which in turn means no time to spend anything.
All Christmas shopping is now complete and all payments for bills till the end of the year paid so now just need to focus on not spending anything until 2011 rolls in.0 -
Morning
Good to see you back on the board.
Glad all running to plan for you .... when you are busy you certainly cant spend.:)
Keep up the good work, looks like the snow is on its way back so there will be no inclination to brave the Christmas craziness:)"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Too true - although I have already informed the wife that I won't, under any circumstances head into town at the weekend - the last weekend before Christmas is going to be crazy, so told her that if she wants anything, get it beforehand otherwise she will be venturing out alone. I will take her food shopping Wednesday/Thursday evening after work or again, she can go it alone.
I did hear the snow is heading back, that will be nice, although with us trekking from ours to my parents on Christmas Day for lunch/evening it doesn't want to be too bad, even if it is only a 10 minute walk.0 -
Good Snowy Morning all.
I thought I'd drop by as today is my last working day this year and wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you all enjoy yourselves without undoing all the good financial work that you have put in over the past 12 months.
Lots of snow here, and alot more expected this evening so probably won't be venturing out much over the next week which will hopefully keep spending down.
Catch you all in the New Year unless I get time over the festive period to stop by and say hi!0 -

Happy New Year all - back to reality now and it has been reduced to the worst possible start.
The wife has had here hours at work reduced to almost a non existent level (mainly due to there being no demand at the moment) so her monthly earnings are likely to come in at around half the amount she requires just to pay the bills. However, she is doing some cleaning on the side for family/friends which will net her a small amount to keep her going, not a great deal but will mean she won't need to dip into her account throughout the month.
Obviously, the worst possible start to the New Year, and one we weren't expecting as we hoped the issue at the end of 2010 with her reduced hours would be the worst of it.
We have sat down and discussed potentially joining a DMP but wanted to try and avoid that where possible mainly due to the mortgage.0 -
Following on from the above post I have been doing some figures at work, and based on the wifes new projected monthly earnings (I hate that) we are likely to be left with around £50 after all essential bills/mortgage/food payments are made. I am pretty sure that £50 isn't going to cover the minimum card payments let alone overpayments to bring the debt down!
Bring back 2010 - at least I had a plan back then!0
