Ah lovely snow - very cold and also useful for NSD! All essential minimum payments were made yesterday so now know how much cash I have left this month, a nice little over payment to Egg will go after I complete the last of my Christmas shopping so that I don't get caught short.

How is everyone else enjoying the festive weather?

We haven't got any snow, I can't decide whether I am :D or :( about that! I'd prefer it if it was a white Christmas though!

Nothing much has changed here - more snow = more NSD's.

Half the office haven't made it in here so going to be a long day. Nothing to really report.
  • Well, with the snow falling I was able to still be productive and I managed to sort out my wifes Christmas present.

Got her a Spa Day in London with 3 treatment of her choice thrown it, and best of all it was reduced from £179 to £39 in the sale - so thought why not and got the same thing for my mum, so they can atleast go together. In addition to that, quidco is giving me just shy of £10 in cashback, nice little Christmas bargin that!

That's the plan, although we did get some bad news over the weekend, so it makes it all the more important that she enjoys it. It's nothing life threatening but just means that she will doing vastly reduced hours until the New Year (were talking less than £50 a week earnings) so any chances of debt busting might need to go on hold as going to need to take on some of the extra responsibilities financially so she doesn't get in to a worse financial state.

Apart from that, a good NSW for me - the rain came down in it's masses on Saturday and cleared all the snow away, we didn't venture out as the rain didn't stop. Yesterday was much the same, we put the Christmas decorations up with the kids, so much fun was had indoors instead.
  • Sorry to hear about your wife having to do reduced hours, hope everything works out for you :)

    Cheers Kat.

It's not something that we weren't really expecting, but we weren't expecting it to happen before the New Year but thats her employers choice I guess. Fingers crossed it will be resolved come January as she is due to start her additional work at the hospital which will earn her an additional £100 per shift.

So, if we can keep costs down until then we should be able to reap the benefits. After adjusting some figures we can get by till then, will mean I pay the minimum payments on all debt until January as will need to cover the majority of her bill payments to keep her in the black - and I am sure I posted earlier about enjoying Christmas!

Sorry to hear about your wife's job, at least you'll hopefully have a solution in January. With the min payments covered, she'll have a bit more time to relax over Christmas!
