Morning all.
Thought I would drop by and say hi. All is looking well, have settled all my bills for the month already and still have in excess of 4 figures in my account, and no - figure. This is for the first time in nearly 5 years so things are looking up!0 -
Morning NM
Absolutely brilliant. Delighted for you. Have you read your diary from the start recently? It will do you good to see how well you have handled all that has been thrown at you.

Good evening all.
Hope everyone is well. Settling in at work nicely, feels like I've been there years rather than 2-months. Paid off nearly £700 in overpayments since I started at the turn of the year. It wouldn't have been more but had Valentines Day and my dads birthday to pay for, and wanted to actually buy nice presents for the first time in a while.
I turn 30 this year so my wife and I are treating ourselves to a long weekend away, so we are saving for that as well. However, I do hope to have cleared the vast majority of my CC's by then.

Hi all, sorry it's been a long time but work is taking up alot of my time.
Now that I am working further away than normal by the time I am home and fed/watered it's a little too late to be logging in and getting side tracked, especially knowing I would need to be up again at 6 in the morning.
Really enjoying work though and the money is very good, feel that I landed a right result when I got this job. I have managed to pay off one of my credit cards already this year and saving towards paying off the second. I also have a loan ending in June so come the second half of the year it will feel that I am making some decent headway into what we owe.
Well, thats if things dont start breaking, new washing machine needed tomorrow!

It would appear that the stranger has re-appeared! I cannot believe it has been nearly 9-months since I posted here. One of my promises this year is to be more focussed towards paying things off, and therefore thought I should restart the diary. Firstly, Happy New Year to all.
So, to begin with, what have we been up to in the last 9-months? Well, work wise, things are going from strength to strength, I was promoted 6-months after starting, I got a little pay wise, I could have had more, but it would have mean't sacrificing the monthly bonus, which would have resulted in earning less. So I think I did the right thing.
I turned 30, and me and Mrs NM went on a 4-night break to Dubai to celebrate, it meant that we spent a little bit more than you would for an average city break, but, you arent 30 every year and we deserved the treat.
Debt wise, this has shrunk, not by as much as I was planning this year, but sometimes things become more important than debt, and it was the first time we have been earning some "decent money", so rewarded ourselves a little, whilst at the same time paying some things off. We have, as I said had a nice holiday, took the children away for a long weekend. Redecorated the living room (first time since we moved in 6-years ago). I also purchased myself a new car, we needed two desperately, as one just wasnt working, especially as I clocked up 8,000 miles in my wifes fiesta in not too great a time period, replaced all the windows to new double glazing, and finally, had a really good Christmas.
I have however paid off both loans and one credit card, debt now stands at a massive.....£9,600. However, I am pretty certain that on pay-day (end of January) this will reduce by a further £1,300.
Plans this year are simple:- Reduce the debt, as above, we should clear a further £1,300 this pay day, I aim to have the debt down to at least £4,500 by the close of 2013.
- Have the guttering/roof repaired/replaced. We have annoying finlock guttering, and this is desperately needing removal as caused massive problems to the bedroom with damp in the winter months (which last 11-months in England).
