That is a load of b***s*** - companies really wind me up with things like this. You were clearly the better candidate for the job! What experience and ideas is the person who got the job bringing or are they just using all of yours???Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Oh No Money, that really stinks! That's awful that they can get away with that, especially when you've been doing the job and they are implementing your suggestions!
I'm so sorry to hear about that, and I think I would be considering my next move as well.

Thanks for the responses guys - I've had a few days to let the dust settle so to speak (fortunately I didn't go on a spending spree to get over it, probably because I've been ill all weekend).
I met with my boss this morning and expressed my concerns (how can I work under someone who got the job I went for, that I've been doing etc and get on with it no problems kind of chat). Seemingly understanding my concerns they dropped the bombshell that the other manager is departing at the end of the year and if I keep assisting where I am, I will get their role when they leave. It's a sort of second prize but one that I am going to take full advantage of.
As it is, the new manager hasn't got a start date, so could potentially be in the role before they do, that would be kind of funny. Oh, and I've asked for the credit for my ideas being implemented, don't want them taking the glory with the execs for that!0 -

Good news about the new opportunity though, and well done for asking for the credit for your ideas! :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks guys, and ebayqueen, long time no see!
I'm feeling better - not 100% but nothing to serious to keep me from going to work. I just didn't have the energy to do alot - so had an impromptu lazy day with the kids, they enjoyed not having to do anything all day - they made cakes with mummy and we sat watching Disney films.
The opportunity is exciting, although not going to happen until October - but with this place there is no guarantee they don't change their mind and draft someone else in - it's not as if they haven't basically done that to me already!
Until I am sitting in that chair (so to speak) I won't believe it.0 -
Can you ask them for it in writing? Well done for being so assertive and asking for the credit for the work you did. I frequently do work others take the credit for, I can be a bit of a b!tch about it though and when they are then presenting said idea, not help them at all - soon becomes apparent they didn't think or create it mwahhahahahahahaha!Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. I could ask for it in writing, but I want to put an element of trust into it - I got my feedback sheet and it mentions in there that I have earmarked my position for the end of the year. I want to see if they can stick to their word.
Moving on to present events - a nice Fathers Day weekend - even the horrible weather didn't dampen things (its the start of Wimbledon and Glastonbury this week so it was always going to rain). Took the kids of the cinema on Saturday morning (£1 per person for the kids films at our local cinema) so didn't break the bank. Also, the restaurant nearby was free steak meals for dads on Fathers Day, so that was also enjoyed as a treat.
The reason for the treat - well, I got home from work in Friday night to find a nice letter from the Tax Man (indeed). It basically confirmed that the money grabbers had ripped me off last year, and by way of an apology they were reimbursing me my overdue payments - very nice indeed! (It wasn't alot - only 3 figures, but it was a nice little gift).0 -

I must admit, it was nice cashing a cheque covered in HMRC logo's but as I said, it was for little over £100 which is likely to get swallowed up this weekend (sister in law gets married the weekend before payday).
Should be able to enjoy a good old knees-up on the government though. Which makes a change from it being the other way around.0
