Hi Wendy,
Congratulations, not sure if i ever said congratulations! How exciting, 10 weeks left, you must be soo excited and be nearing the end of work and starting maternity?!
sorry to hear about all your car troubles, what a nightmare, cars can be a pain in the bottom sometimes. I still couldn't live without mine though lol.
Good news about your luck with the money at the mo, really handy for when little one arrives. I know what you mean about them doing overtime, mines forever doing overtime lately, money left in the pot before April so using it all up, which is great, but never seeing your name and having to write him off for the week is never fun! Hey ho!
Hopefully i'll get my mum in gear and start doing some more money saving!
Hope you're well.

Yes cars are a nightmare but we can't do without them!

Have had quite a nice weekend. We drove down to Southampton Friday. Saturday I went shopping with my Mum, got her a top for her birthday and also used my M and S vouchers to get some more vests and also some more sleepsuits for baby. Then we went for lunch at a nice pub. It got called a bit short as my Grandma is staying with my parents at the moment as she has injured her back. She woke up sat and couldn't use her hand so the doctor was a bit worried and sent her to hospital but thankfully isn't anything too serious and should be back to normal soon. She had to stay in overnight but they picked her up today.
Yesterday evening i went to my friends for some dinner and then out to pub for a bit. Was a bit noisy and crowded though and I was tired so didn't last long.
Today we went to visit OH's sister and nieces and went to the playcentre. OH was running round after them, think it knackered him out. Good practice for him though!
Car started shuddering a bit again grr! No where near as bad and engine light not coming on but still so annoying. We are going to see how it goes.0 -
The car seems to be OK now, so fingers still crossed for it!
Had a check up at doctors today and all is well. My blood pressure etc are normal now so nothing to worry about. Baby is head down at the min so hopefully she will stay there or will be there is a few weeks anyway!
I have managed to keep to my budget this month which is good. Going to babyshow this weekend so hpefully will get some baby bargains.0 -
The car didn't last long. OH tried to drive to work and didn't get very far and then had to take to garage. Waiting to hear back about it now.
Only got 29 more working days left before baby, on a bit of a countdown!
Looking forward to baby show tomorrow, hope i find some bargains.0 -
I rememmber that count down. Hope the car doesn't cost you too much0

Me too Yukki. OH is refusing to pay for all the labour again as we have paid out so much already for it not to be fixed so hopefully if they actually work out what it is we will only pay for parts.
Got £5 in my account today from a survey site which has been transfered to sofa/baby fund . Poor account keeps going down everytime we have to pay for car but at least I am not getting myself in debt again.
Off to the babyshow in a bit.0 -
Babyshow was really good but knackered me out!
I managed to order my cot and mattress with 10% off from Mothercare and came in 3 pounds over what the HIP grant was so that pretty much paid for it t which is great. It should be arriving this week.
I also got some Avent stuff that I was after for a lot cheaper than have seen anywhere else and they threw in some freebies as well.
My Mum got me some of these wipes that are 99.9% water so supposed to be quite good for babies. Also she got me two towels with hoods and a blanket.
Managed to get lots of freebies including anti bacterial wipes, bibs, little teddy, spoons, dummies, juice and some other things.
After baby show we went to Jamies Italian in Canary Wharf and me and my sister paid for lunch for my Mum as was her birthday last week. Was really nice meal, I had carbonara and ice cream after.
We also popped into Waitrose home store and I got three little vests for £3. Also got a baby record book which I am going to start filling out when I start maternity leave.
Today I will be trying to find space for all the new bits and am also going to make some baby shower invites on the computer.0 -
If i ever get round to having a baby I would defo go baby show just for the freebies! :rotfl:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

Can't believe it's so few weeks till baby time
Sounds like you've got everything under control though. The baby shower will be fab too, it's sad but I love that part if have one on 16&Pregnant!
Hope the car is actually getting fixed this time, they can be such a money pit! But they're annoyingly essential, can't really say no.0
