Preparing for a new arrival in 2011

I thought I would start a new diary to try and motivate me to get the last bit of my debt paid off and to help me start saving.
Just a bit of background. I am just about to turn 24, have been with my boyfriend for almost 6 years and we are expecting our first baby in April 2011. I would like to get some money saved up before I go on maternity leave and can't do that until we have paid for our sofas which are on a o% deal until May 2011.
The main ways I am hoping to get the sofas paid and the savings started is by putting some in each month from my wages. I also am a member of a few survey sites and so get payouts sometimes from them which will help.
I will also be using this diary to help to organise me with all my baby purchases.

Hi, lovely to see you again Yukki! How are things with you?0
-
It's all good here, just saving hard to pay for the wedding. It's only four months away now so it's very real!0
-
Very exciting Yukki!
News from me today, i got 10.75 today in my account from a survey site so that has gone in the sofa fund.
I am off to the dentist this morning but is free since I am pregnant yay! It's a bit sad that I get excited about free dentist! Then I am taking my sister to the hospital for her appointment.
I actually have some money left in my account this month and payday Thurs so if i manage not to spend any, that will be going in the fund.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Hi hun long time no see!!!! Congratulations on the baby! Will keep reading! xNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

Aw thanks, it is a long time indeed! Hope things are good with you.
Wel the dentist went OK, so that was good. Then took my sister to the hospital for her appointment and she paid for my lunch at pizza express as an early birthday pressie, bless her! Then we had to go to hospital again as she had two appointments. Only spent a few pounds on some sweets and a magazine so not a bad day.
I have managed to do a few surveys tonight, I am quite close to payout on a few sites so hopefully will manage that soon.0 -
Well a bit of an update on the last few days.
It was my birthday on Wednesday and I got some lovely pressies, including some money, a coat, boots, a dress, pregnancy pillow, Cheryl Coles book, some benefit make up and some other bits and bobs. We didn't do much in the day as had to wait for washing machine man but in the evening we went to an Indian for dinner which was really nice.
Thursday we went into London and went to Harrods to have a look around and then to Billy Elliott the musical, really enjoyed it.
Yesterday I came down to Southampton with my Mum and last night went for dinner with my friends which was lovely. We went to an Italian and they got me a gorgeous Pandora charm bracelet with a charm and I also got a bit more money and a lovely necklace and bracelet. So have been really spoilt all in all.
I spent half of yesterday trying to get Take That tickets but no such luck. Have been last three tours so not end of the world and also baby will only be two months then. Will try and keep a look out for any going though (not paying ebay prices though!).
Today the plan is to pop round to OH's sisters this afternoon as they are having a little haloween party for his nieces and then I am going to get the train back up later on.0 -
Ive found where your hiding!
Congrats again on the pregnancy news
Take That tickets...everyone was talking about them yesterday..they were on sale on ebay an hour after going on sale...those poeople really pee me off when theres fans that actually want to watch them and not sell them for profit.
