I applied for Barclaycard Platinum and had to state my income on there so it does get asked and the usual requirement is 20k +

How long did you wait for the email, i've had everything confirmed that I was accepted but no email, making me think 'did I type me email address right!?' wouldnt be the first time

It took about 48 hours from applying and recieving the email.

I personally think why does barclays say you have to earn 20k a year for the platinum when clearly that is not the case.

It seems as long as you have good credit they would take you without earning that amount.

You have not said who you bank with in previous posts.

Yes, you should do! However, unlikely it will happen as certain posters on here believe that they are never wrong ;) My post may initiate an apology though, to prove me wrong :rotfl:

Anyway, well done on getting the Platinum, and enjoy your new Macbook - they are fantastic :D

perhaps now people will realise that the process is not as black and white as they claimed. too many posters lately are saying "you have no chance" etc

this debunks another myth about credit, thankfully
  • I was accepted last year for the Barclaycard platinum, told the truth on the form and put down my wage as 15k, and got £4500 limit. I've never banked with Barclays. I dont think the 20k restriction is set in stone and they take into consideration other factors as well.
