Well Dad didn't show, and DD2 fell over in the playground and screamed for a full hour and fifteen minutes, despite calpol and plasters, so I told him not to bother. Also Mrs S arrived 15 minutes early and was banging on the door, but I chose to ignore her until the appointed time since I had my hands full.
Got some washing done, though, and have sorted 0-3 months clothes into girl and acceptable unisex.
Had to turn the aga off as we are getting it and the boiler serviced today, and I need to order oil, we are nearly out.
That will be expensive. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
£650 for 1000L oil. Ouch, and had to sit at pre-school for 5 minutes past starting time waiting for both the staff to show  because they couldn't lock their front doors...what Both of them? They live in separate houses :mad:Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Ouch to the oil costs. Very expensive, and i guess that won't last a whole year.
And as for pre-school, are they having a laugh. That excuse is very feeble.
Hope today goes better for you.0 -
Hi Michelle. Fortunately I was aware we might be having staffing issues, they keep trying to run without the statutory minimum of staff, and I have been really clear with them that we will not be leaving DD2 with them unless they are properly staffed.
How dreadful for parents who need to get off to work, though, what a dilemma...leave the child with unsuitable people or be late for/miss work.
The oil will prob only last until May/June!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I was just thinking myself actually how would you have got to work on time.
Oil seems to be so expensive. Our DD for gas/electric is only £72 per month and we have managed to build up £130 of credit over the 9 months we have used them. That is one big bill.0 -
Yeah, it wasn't expensive historically, and here in the back of beyond we don't have gas. Its the aga really, it is a thirsty beast.
I have to console myself that it also heats the kitchen, presses sheets, dries clothes, heats the bathroom, provides hot water and warms the puppy as well as being our only cooker.
Uh oh, dangerous ideas, I'm looking at fridge freezers now so I can stick our old ones in the garage for overflow...any ideas on good makes? I'm allergic to hotpoint/zanussi.
Blowing a gale here as well. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I have marked my measuing gauge so that when we hit 175litres I order the next 2000 litres. On about 250L so far so not long to go
No gas here either, still could have been worse I could have had LPG.

LPG is a nightmare. You probably get a better price with a bigger tank, ours is only 1300L. We have ours marked in weeks of oil left, but I am not firing on all 4 at the moment, so not too organised!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Just looked and the quotes are:
2000 of kerosene @ 59.6 = £1251.60
2000 of keromax (apparently 10% more efficient) @ 62.60 = £1314.60
I bought the keromax last time but I can't honestly say it it was any better or not....
