I hate name hunting. I'm an accountant and its really really offputting when i hear some peoples names. Especially those seeking summer work experience. This year we had a Heaven, a Urban, and a Oberon-Puk. Now i like Midsummer nights dream as much as the next person but really Oberon-puk!!!!

  • These parents have no thought at all for the kids. I bet in later life they all change their names to "John" or something, haven't Paula Yates' kids changed their names to more sensible ones?

Oh dear, MIL out of hosp but SIL has told her that the registrar says it doesn't look good. What a stupid thing a. for the registrar to say without all the tests back and b. to tell your Mum when you have no idea if it's true or not. They seem to like to torture each other.

Anyway its her birthday tomorrow, God love her, what a birthday present.

Riding this morning (will cost!) and trip to hospital for DD1 eye appointment pm, also pick up curtains. Hoping to get a new voucher for specs for DD1...can I blag it??

Also pick up cleaned curtains and send dehumidifier back to ebac as it's packed up. Fair play to them so far, brilliant customer service (measured by the gold standard of the guys at the tip!!).

Really thinking we will have to cut right back the rest of this month as have been pretty £busy£...

eta the bunting and DD1's pink jeans came out the most incredibly vibrant violet, excellent! The colour of this writing in fact.

Your poor MIL. I hope she will be ok.

Great that the bunting and jeans came out a good colour! :)
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

  • Thanks, smlsave. She's 81, but not getting negative until there are some actual results, IYSWIM.

Ploof! Another busy day, riding, managed to spend £28 eek! Had a lovely time and even DD2 who is 3 has a little sit on and a ride round the yard. There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a (man) it is true.

Whizzed home, ate lunch too fast, off to hosp. DD1 discharged from eye clinic, yay! Then M and S to take advantage of dine in for a tenner (cheeky £10, and DH managed to spend another tenner on magazines and papers, aaarrgghhh!).Cheekily dodged the parkie, but only just. Apparently M and S was bedlam, and all the "dine in for a tenner" stuff had pretty much gone.

Also picked up the tons of drycleaning (£114). Will really have to go back to work to save some cash, although have saved loads in petrol this week (about £50).

My book has arrived, which is "Its me or the dog" thought I'd better do some prep, as though I've had a dog and she was dear and lovely, she wasn't exactly good, more of an ASBO dog.

All the way to hospital, DDs tried to make themselves hiccup (hiccough?) and sang "twinkle twinkle little sheep" bizarre.

Dad is coming later to fix our bath taps which are dripping badly, and literally pouring money down the drain. Ebac picked up the dehumidifier good as their word.

Lazy evening planned watching DrWho - we are obsessed!

  • NSD planned today, except DD2 needs a new coat...making a lantern and pumpkin soup from the leftovers. Ironing, washing and attacking the toy silo that used to be a dining room.

  • I really don't see it that way, I think I'm dreadfully lazy. Just been on ebay and got both girls new winter coats from Boden, new, for £40 both. Happy happy happy.

Rather embarrassed to see the size label in DD2's coat which she is bursting out of (2-3 years) and she is a BIG age 3+. Not fat, just big. Good news is this must get me to £25 on greasy palm finally, so £25 back, then I'm starting on quidco which is better, I think?

  • Pumpkin soup made, lantern carved, last of carpet on it's way to tip. DH has organised our stripper (of the floor).
