Got a terrifying 'phone bill this month, on checking it appears that it was DH's mercy dash to see his Ma, all those mobile calls, and also it cost us £7 to call in to her in hospital, despite the fact that we didn't once get through. Disgraceful.

Have just done a mahoosive Mr S order, not sure if they will be delivering, though, we have had 8 inches of snow. The great news is a very unwelcome visitor had to cancel due to the road conditions, which is a result. And a NSD because of not going out.
DDs have been in 3 sets of clothes today, though! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Sounds like the snow is pretty bad at yours again. So glad we don't have it again at the minute.
Yay at no unwelcome visitor and the NSD. Boo to all the wet clothes.
And ouch at the phone bill. No idea why they have to be so over the top with the bill. Disgraceful when it is when you spend the most when your relative is in hospital.0 -
The crazy thing is we didn't even get to speak to her, and we were ringing in, not out! If you were on the breadline and so were your family you would have no chance.
Southend University Hospital, name and shame.
No more snow, but it hasn't thawed any. Breakfast done, and ironing next I think, but the water pipes have frozen and so no water coming into house, will have to wait until its sorted/thawed a bit to do some more washing. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
We have a blizzard here currently.... Not the best. Hope your pipes thaw without splittingMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Thankyou (gulp) don't fancy underground split ones much. It has happened before and they were ok, though.
Are you snowed in? In typical Devonian fashion they were saying on the radio "the grit won't work unless people drive on the roads, but we don't want anyone driving on the roads as its not safe".
It will stop being funny about Wednesday I reckon.
How's the BP, LP?Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I have just been sent a photo of the litter of puppies, gorgeous and nine of them. How wonderful. Going to visit in 4 weeks' time.
Had an interesting decision from DH when I suggested we see MIL instead of a planned chess weekend, he chose the chess...he knows we can't afford both, so maybe he's much less worried than I am?
Managed a NSD, but the water hasn't thawed so we are back on the mains. That will cost, if it's for long. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Ploof! Busy day. We have had a shedload more snow. Enforced NSD as Mr S rang and cancelled our Christmas grocery order.
DD2's Godmother came round impromptu for lunch, then took both girls for a play with neigbouring little girls. Mucked out sitting room, and now we have lost the TV remote...DD1 not impressed.
Met office warning of snow every day until Friday, hope not, wanted to go to Taunton Thursday for haircuts.
Watched the film of dreamgirls last night, is quite good but some of the songs go on waaaay too long.
eta confession, not a NSD at all. Ordered 1000L of central heating oil, cost £711 aarrggghhh! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Did Mr S reschedule or cancel completely? What a pain.
Glad we drove to shop when we could as it's getting to the point where we can't get car out again2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
MrS cancel completely when its due to bad weather, you just lose your slot.
Went to a carol service in the pub last night and spent £16, but a fiver of that was to air ambulance. It was lovely, except there were some grown women there who didn't know how to behave. Shameful, laughing raucously every time people started a carol. And they're locals, it wasn't like they had come for a drink and didn't realise there was a service on.
Log man reckons he is coming tomorrow. DH is taking the girls to the church group for kids to do crafting this morning, so I will get some jobs done (or finish my Ruth Rendell!!).Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
