Well positive spin on things... they thought stomach cancer but test show no cancer so it's not where they thought if at all. Has you DH called the actual hospital or is he getting the info from SIL?? Sorry but she sound a bit of a drama queen who seems to enjoy stressing you OH out. Fingers crossed she has an ulcer or celiacs disease or something. Not wanting to wish ill on your MIL but as she plainly has something I hope is something very very treatableMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

So glad to hear it's not cancer as was feared.
Big ouch at those spends Grateful!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I really am having so much trouble following what is going on. Now it is cancer with metastatic cells, they just can't find out where. This is not good, but DH has ignored my suggestion he speak to someone at the hosp, and so it is still all secondhand from SIL. He's going to visit this w/e. ??????????? I have suggested he put MIL in contact with Macmillan.
Anyway, the boiler is going again but needs a new oil pump, Mr S was £105, but the boiler man didn't charge me yet.
Get through the day and the weekend I think...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Thanks, Cath. Hoping she will deal with it ok, she's pretty stoic in lots of ways. Also hoping DH will get a clearer picture when he's there. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

GFH get you OH on the phone to the hospital or call then yourself and ask for MIL consultant to call you to discuss 'treatment'. I has been a long long time since i dropped out of medicine for accountancy but from what I can remember when metatastic cells are found they are exactly the same as the originating cancer, so breast cancer mets could be found in lungs or brain or liver but the cells will show breast cancer. Has she fought a won the battle against the big C before?? Mets can appear months or years after remission so the only cancer to be treated is the mets.
Anyway not wanting to dwell but I think there are missing bits either from SIL getting in a state and not listening to the Drs fully or misunderstanding right up to SIL just telling your OH the most dramatic stuff.
Thinking of you and I hope you get answers over the weekend xxMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Thanks, that fits with my quick googling this morning. She has never been aware of having cancer in the past I don't think.
So can the metatastic cells be identified for the type of cancer?
Thanks for the support guys. xPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
A NSD today. The central heating has gone off again, so waiting on the guy to get a pump and do a proper fix on it. This weekend I need to restore the order to the bedrooms, which we have switched all around.
