I dunno, I think he was a mixture of homesick and hurt. I hate saying it because it sounds so harsh but his family don't seem in the slightest bothered about him moving out. His youngest Brother was the only one who went out to see him off and no ones been in proper contact with him all week. With living at my parents he's seeing the massive fuss everyones making about me moving out, saying how they'll be stopping by most days and my Sister has made it crystal clear she's planning on stopping over a fair bit. Put that next to his family saying they might not be coming over until next year, it's more than a little !!!!!!. Just feel really horrid for him on that level
I know he'll be perfectly happy once we're in the house though, just a matter of getting in!
Sorry to hijack your thread Dinah!! :A0 -

That sounds a lot like OH's family. His Mum's bothered with him but the rest of them aren't. He's only really noticed that it's a bit odd in the last few years because my family are a little OTT with their love! Mum and Dad can't be without their 'babies' (25 & 29!) for more than a few days whereas OH's Dad will happily go weeks without even looking at his sons, which is quite a feat considering he works with 2 of them!
Feeling quite on edge today because I'm not going to be able to go to the gym after work as I've got a couple of friends coming for tea (to moan about the Bridezilla!!), this really is not me at all!
I've spent most of today reading a thread on the special occassions board full of crafty christmas present ideas, I really want to get making things now! There are some very clever ladies out there!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Lol - I like your style Dinah
I'm glad to see wine hasn't been knocked off your shopping list!
Am going out for a meal with some other mums tomorrow night. I can't wait to get dressed up. And they are the type of Mums that talk about things other than their babies. Can't wait - can you tell I don't go out much!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Cinny - that is a shame his family aren't making more of a fuss of him leaving, he will be happy when he is settled like you said.
I don't get out very often these days but am quite happy snuggled up in front of TV.0 -
No dice (Blasted more than 10 characters)[/QUOTE]
Quick question, cos I am a bit thick! N.I.M. what does the above mean - Blasted more than 10 characters??
Reason I'm asking is for some reason, I have this exact phrase sitting in an AVG search engine at the top of my screen - it freaked me out, cos I haven't tried to search for it. Weird or what!
Hope everyone is well, especially you Tete - hope taking time out to be kind to yourself - you might not think it now, but everything happens for a reason. Don't give up on your dreams x0 -
Morning all.
So NIM and I were talking last night and as well as the obvious reason we're making no headway (still spending every evening working on the house), we think it would help us to have mini goals to work for. Which in all that honesty aren't that mini! So when we clear:
HSBC CC1 + Next (Around £4600 total) we go to Rome for NIMs rugby match (only if cleared before end of Jan)
HSBC CC2 + OD + BSH = £4900 = We buy NIM a cheap run around
Loan = £8000 = We book New York
All cleared! = We book Japan
I think it's pretty clear where our priorities in life lie atm = getting in lots of travel and clearing the debt to make us baby ready when the time comes. I know (and I keep having the internal tussle with myself) that the best thing to do is to just put my head down and get it all cleared, but mentally that doesn't really seem to be working at the moment as I just feel so rushed all the time. I'm aiming to get some higher value items up on ebay by the end of the weekend, hopefully they'll be picked up as Christmas presents.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That sounds like a great idea Dinah and wow - what lovely treats to look forward to!!! Great incentives for yourself and NIM
You are right to get as much travel in and be debt free before you have a baby. We managed to get a lot of travel in but not clearing the debt. I am hoping if OH gets this job in Scotland that we will be debt free by Xmas 2011 and then we can really overpay on our mortgage, plus have a very comfortable life. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
