Great news on the job Poolie and the car sale Dinah!

I'm sure you'll find something soon Flower, any chance of getting a christmas job on top of your current job whilst you're waiting to find something?

I've got a right horrid cough, had to nip out of work this morning to go and get some medicine for it because I was so bad and everyone was getting annoyed! I've slept on the sofa the past 2 nights because I'm so aware that I'm keeping OH awake with my incessant barking, it's no fun! It's not all bad for me though, I was on fire at the gym last night! I've got a fancy new Nokia N8 phone (which is freakin' awesome, and I'm not really into phones! Many thanks to OH for picking it out for me!) and I put an episode of Mad Men on it and just watched it whilst on the cross trainer and the bike, I didn't even notice that my heart was about to burst out of my chest until I got off the machines! Going again tonight and I'll be doing the same, the only problem is when something makes me laugh, I look like a loony smirking at my phone!

Nope :( I already work in retail so hours are never regular and all over the place - especially over Christmas and Christmas temp jobs are even worse, so would be near on impossible. Hopefully in the run up to Christmas head office will authorise for us to have more hours to cover the busy periods. Got 8 extra this week - not much but all helps I guess!
OH has just gone to work to see if he can get anymore hours.

Congratulations on the job Poolie! And good luck Flower in finding another one! You're gonna be very busy soon working in retail! I quite like working in a supermarket at Christmas though as time goes really quickly!

Hope you feel better soon Birdie. I hate having a cough. Sounds like you did amazing at the gym! On the Grabbit board is a treadmill for £34.99 instead of £400 at Debenhams. It's obviously a glitch and won't be honoured but I thought I'd try anyway. And the website kept crashing so I rang up. The woman put my order through but now everyone is going mental saying the people that rang up have ruined it etc etc. Very annoying. I know I might feel the same if it was the other way around but it's not. :p:o

ETA: The scan pic is amazing Wendz! Are you gonna find out what it is?

    A baby?! ;)

That's some glitch! So have you actually got one for that price?!

I'm sure there'll be plenty of extra hours for you and your OH soon Flower with Christmas coming. It really is coming too, I saw the Christmas M&S ad last night and got very excited! I'm so sad but I love the big budget style Christmas ads!

Ha! :D I think I'd wanna know whether it's a boy or girl - be prepared and all that.

It's doubtful that anyone is gonna get them for that price. People are !!!!!ing that the people that rang have alerted Debenhams to the glitch (which is probably true) but orders were still getting though so obviously people ringing didn't do too much damage! I think all orders are gonna be cancelled though, which is a shame!

I'm getting so excited for Christmas! Can't wait to do a tree :D

It would be great if the order wasn't cancelled!

Hope you feel better soon Birdie :)

Well done on the job Poolie!

Also well done on selling car Dinah, sounds like a good price.

Zig - yep we are finding out what it is on the 15th, very excited!

I have managed to get a cold and is more rubbish than usual as can't take most painkillers etc now.
  • Hi all, lovely pic Wendz and congrats on the job Poolie.

I'll tell you my news. Got back from the Lakes yesterday and OH broke up with me. I'm totally heartbroken. He's been feeling not right for a while, and looking back I knew something was wrong really. Stupidly thought he was worried about redundancy. I'm back at my Dad's and it's like the last three years (-12 days) never happened. I can't believe it. Can't believe my future isn't going to have him in it. I just don't know what to do with myself. (oh all those songs make SO much sense now). I'll stop because I'm upsetting myself, but wanted to tell you as you girls actually know a lot more about our relationship than most of my friends.

    :(

I am so, so sorry Tete. Thats awful news and there is nothing any of us can say to make it any better, but I'm sure everyone here is in agreement that we're all willing ears if you want to talk anything through, or rant about man-!!!!!!!s for a while (sorry Poolie and NIM, you're going to have to agree your gender can be gits). It's better things happened now if they had to happen than a few months after a move around the planet though. Did he not give any idea of why things don't feel right? You seemed so happy.

  • Remember we had that big talk a few months back about marriage etc? He said of course he wanted it but he now says he was deluding himself and we want different things. Now I wish I'd never brought it up because I'd rather be with him and now I'll probably never have kids anyway! I don't want you to think he's a baddie though, he's done the right thing and I've been on that side of it myself so I totally understand. Just wish it wasn't true.
