You have 2 irons Dinah?! How do you have so much ironing to do?! We only iron things when absolutely necessary, we have a rubbish iron and a wobbly ironing board but see no point in replacing them because we won't get our money's worth out of them! I'm not really painting a picture of the perfect housewife here am I?!

Bit of a disaster with your Dad's car, which bank are you with for the recovery? We're with Halifax and are supposed to get free breakdown cover and I'm worrying now! Hope one of the watchers on your car puts a bid in too, how much are you after for it?

I HATE unironed things, everything in our house gets ironed except undies, socks and towels! We have two decent (not fancy steam buckety things, just £50 ones with a decent steam pressure on them) irons which makes it a much less annoying job, but we just haven't had time lately so all the honeymoon clothes still need ironing. I hate ironing to be honest, but I don't like looking at wrinkly bedding and I can't imagine wearing clothes that weren't ironed, ergo lots of ironing to get through. It's all worth it getting into nice crisp sheets afterwards though!

The breakdown cover through the bank is with Mondial. I will be in contact with HSBC as the service is so poor I'm planning to join the AA or RAC in addition as I need a reliable provider for when I'm in the back of beyond, on my own, in winter. I can't be waiting 2 1/2 hours!

Car is up for £950, I'd be chuffed if I got £1200 for it, any more than that and I might be dancing.

Hmmm to be honest I never feel wrinkled even though I rarely iron anything I wear! We're very careful to dry things in shape so they don't get all creased up though... My Mum is a bit of an ironing fanatic and I've been put off it for life because I used to have to iron for hours and there were always really awkward things to iron, remember the twisted seam Levis? My brother had them and was really particular about how they were ironed but 'couldn't' do it himself so it was left to me!

Good idea to look on the bright side of not getting the job Poddle and I'm sure your bottom will thank you!

Got my fingers crossed for the car going for lots of money Dinah!

Birdie - I'm with you on the ironing, I cannot understand people who iron everything?! I iron what needs to be ironed, work clothes, jeans etc.. but t shirts for example as long as they are hung out on the line straight away they dry without any creases in anyway.
OHs mum irons absolutly everything and complains when she has s much to do. Erm...dont iron things that dont need to be ironed then :rotfl:

    Hello all,

Have been to midwife appointment and all is well and normal which is good. Got to hear baby's heartbeat and seems to be doing ok! The midwife said I have strong stomach muscles which will help me ping back to shape haha, i hope so anyway!

Poddle -it does seem very real after scan, apprently i will be able to feel it any day now which will be weird. You have to take Folic acid to 12 weeks but then it is pretty much look after yourself although I do have some pregnancy vitamins.

I usually do all my ironing in one go at the weekend , OH irons his work stuff as he goes.
  • Fingers crossed you get your 'new' car soon Dinah, good choice BTW, I love my Kia (sad moo that I am..but its reliable, cheap to run and has a 5* safety rating)

Another £66.10 paid off by me this morning (Quidco money). I feel like this is going really slowly - but my box of ebay stuff is in the attic! Never mind, car ends tonight and that ought to carry us over on target for the month - next month we're going to have to put some effort in!

Small steps can turn into big one quickly. I am sure the ebay box will disappear soon enough. The MB was a good money maker before your honeymoon. Are you looking at ramping that up?

Yes, but need a pool of money to use for it, so I think it'll be once my credit card and the OD are paid off, as they're both earning interest, or will soon be earning interest. Will also be able to mystery shop again once we get a new car.

Have you got any bids on your car yet? Good plan to pay off your CC & OD before getting back into MB but it must be frustrating knowing that if you only had a pool to play with you could pay them off quickly though MB!

Just got a call from the manager for one of the jobs I applied for, I'm underqualified as they need someone to 'hit the ground running' (I suspected I would be but shy bairns get nowt and all that!) but she gave me a list of other jobs to go for (including the other job that I've already gone for) and told me to keep in touch which is promising, I think! I've applied for the other jobs now so keeping my fingers crossed!

Something odd has come over me, I didn't go to the gym last night as I went to see my parents and I kind of missed it, I felt guilty for not going! And I want to go tonight! This is not me at all! Hope it lasts!

I very rarely iron either, my belief is that my body heat gets the creases out - that or if something is too creased to wear, I don't wear it :D

    Great scan piccie Wendz!
