Indeed Dinah... just offer to pay what you can afford which will be token payments of £2 a week!
LOL at being flowered out Wendz! Maybe the Americans have it right when they register for baby gifts?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I'd love a baby shower, that would be such a lovely thing. Little cakes, non alcoholic cocktails, decorating baby gro-s. I don't think I know anyone who'd think to throw me one though! Might have to suggest it to my mum when the time comes, she loved organising the wedding and half organising the hen do.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds like you have the right attitude, you have done what you can but no point in getting stressed about the outcome.
Birdie - Haha yeah maybe they do! Got a lovely surprise at the weekend, card from everyone at work and £120 mamas and papas vouchers! So lovely of them all and at least then we can get what we want with it.0 -
Dinah - I was a bit naughty and did my own baby shower but i did write on the invites that presents weren't expected. I wanted it more for the games and things, was really fun and lovely to see everyone. Would be really good if someone could throw one for you though.0

Would be a bit odd if they threw one for me atm - maybe I could shove a football up there?!
I'm stressed right now but only because I want to KNOW, not that I particularly care at this point what was decided. I'm starting to get worried he won't be heard and will have to go back tomorrow and loose another days pay.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'd love a baby shower too (obviously at the right time!) but I don't really know anyone who'd think to throw one and do it 'right' either. I'm still a little disappointed that my friends didn't bother to organise so much as a pink balloon on my chair on my hen party, but then they're just not like me when it comes to thinking about the little touches. Suppose being creative can be as much of a curse as it is a blessing at it opens your eyes to how things could have been! I'm enjoying preparing for my friend's bridal shower as I love making decorations, I spent last night making bunting!
That's a lovely surprise from work Wendz, they're so good to you!
Fingers crossed that you hear some good news from court soon Dinah!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That was why i did my own, i am (or was before baby) far more organised than all my friends.
My sister made bunting for my baby shower, we only took it down after the royal wedding as was so lovely looking.0 -
I'll throw you one Birdie - I'd love to throw a baby shower! I'm super organised, crafty, creative and kitch, I could do a good one I just know it.
Case has been adjourned until June while we submit adittional information and the judge has time to review it. We've also been told to submit a counter claim so we need to find the money to do that. Turns out the woman with him was a litigant, now all I can think is 'are we expected to pay her fees if we loose?' and 'we can't afford legal council' so we'll have to do some thinking. If we aren't expected to pay her fees dragging it on can only be good for us as we don't have fees to pay and he does. Then again she's probably just a family friend.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That is annoying for you! I am not sure how these things work but does sound like you need to think of what to do next. If she was sat making silly comments with him sounds like she could just be a friend or something.0
